DILG Oras Municipal Office Joins 2nd Quarter Joint LCPC and LCAT-VAWC Meeting and Special Meeting for MTF-ELCAC
The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Oras Municipal Office actively participated in the 2nd Quarter Joint Meeting of the Local Council for the Protection of Children (LCPC) and the Local Committee Against Trafficking and Violence Against Women and their Children (LCAT-VAWC), together with the Special Meeting of the Municipal Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (MTF-ELCAC) on May 14, 2026 at the ACCL Hall, Oras, E. Samar.
During the meeting, OIC MLGOO Erlinda R. Gajol presented feedback on the results of the recently conducted LCPC Functionality Assessment and the Child-Friendly Local Governance Audit (CFLGA). The presentation highlighted the municipalityβs current performance and areas for improvement in promoting child welfare and ensuring child-friendly governance.
Various child-related concerns and issues were likewise discussed and addressed by the members of the council, emphasizing the importance of strengthened collaboration among stakeholders in safeguarding the rights and welfare of children in the municipality.
In line with the advocacy to protect women and children, the council also revisited existing LCAT-VAWC legislative issuances and policies to further enhance local mechanisms and interventions against violence and trafficking.
Meanwhile, members of the Retooled Community Support Program (RCSP) Team provided updates on their ongoing activities and initiatives. OIC MLGOO Gajol also presented the calendar of activities for the two newly identified RCSP target barangays, aimed at strengthening community engagement, development interventions, and responsive governance at the grassroots level.
The meeting reaffirmed the commitment of the DILG, local councils, and partner agencies in promoting child protection, peace-building efforts, and inclusive local governance in the Municipality of Oras.
