SUFA has and will always negotiate in good faith. As such, during the September 16 negotiation meeting, we have withdrawn several proposals in an effort for both parties to come up with an amicable agreement. While our withdrawn proposals have not yet been reciprocated by Administration, we continue to negotiate for the betterment of the academic personnel.

On the ATB:

Union proposal currently stands at P3,000 for the 1st year, P3,000 for the 2nd year, and P2,000 for the 3rd year.

Administration's counter proposal on the ATB still stands at P450 for the 1st year, P500 for the 2nd year, and P650 for the 3rd year.

The next negotiation meeting is set on September 23, 2026.

During CHED's visit to Silliman University last September 7-8, CHED was asking about SUFA, as shared by friends of the Union. This was further confirmed after there were verbal comments against SUFA regarding how the Union has brought about reputation risks to the University because anomalies in the University were reported to CHED.

We feel strongly against such statements regarding the so-called "reputation risks" made by the Union in reporting anomalies. Yes, anomalies should be reported especially if the University poses a far more reputation risk for committing the anomaly. The Union will continue to be a watchdog if the University and the Administrators will continue to violate its own University Manual procedures. This is how much we love our dear old University - we want the University to make sure that they do not commit violations that are stated in a proper official document.

Now, let's see what other reputation risks are going around regarding the documents of the programs.

: Faculty First: The Pillars of Quality Education Under Strain

Over the years, SU has upheld its reputation as one of the country’s leading universities. The institution’s future, however, hinges on decisive investment in the pillars of its academic operations: the faculty. Without immediate, targeted support, the University’s global standing and the competitiveness of its graduates will remain at risk.
