CIDG ARRESTED ALLEGED GUNMAN IN DUMAGUETE CITY

The alleged gunman of the Mang Atchan case in Dumaguete City was arrested by the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group earlier today, May 16, 2023, at about 8:50 AM In front of the PNP-DEG building, Camp BGen Rafael T. Crame, Quezon City.

PSSg Noel Santa Ana Alabata Jr., a.k.a. Alfonso Edena Tan was arrested by virtue of a Warrant of Arrest for the following crimes;

1. Attempted Murder issued by Hon. Glenda J. Yee-Uymatiao, Presiding Judge, 7th Judicial Region, RTC Branch 35, Dumaguete City, with a fixed bail recommended of Php120,000.00; and

2. Attempted Homicide signed by Hon. Dinah Bagares Tabada-Chu, Presiding Judge, 7th Judicial Region, MTCC Branch 1, Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental, with Php36,000.00 bail recommended.

The CIDG Director, PBGen Romeo M Caramat Jr., said that the accused was formerly assigned to PDEG R6 and was the alleged gunman of the owners of the Mang Atchan Tocino, Mr. Jason Ong and Sandy Tinguha.

The accused was brought to the CIDG DSOU Office for documentation and custody while awaiting a Commitment Order from the issuing court.

NORECO II scheduled power interruption on February Saturday to MARCH 4, 2023, SATURDAY, 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.

Areas affected: Portion of Feeder 9 of our Bagacay Substation

Areas along National Highway from crossing Stella Maris Retreat House, Bacong going to NORECO II Bulak Dauin Substation
Entire area of barangays San Miguel, Buntod, Calangag, Doldol, Lutao, Soludpan, Timbanga, and Tubod in Bacong
Reason: NORECO II will replace 7 units of pole with three-phase backbone line affected by the DPWH road widening in Bacong and clear vegetation.

All works may be finished ahead of time and power may be restored earlier than scheduled, so please consider the lines always energized. Member-customer-owners in the affected areas are advised to take the necessary precautions. Please turn off all your electrical switches and once the power is back, please wait for five minutes before switching on your electrical switches.

Two shot dead in Valencia

A recent shooting incident occurred in Valencia at around 10 in the evening of February 8, 2023.

The victims were identified as Tim Moerch, a Danish national residing in West Balabag, Valencia and his live in partner one Myla Ozoa Cagasan of Purok Sto. NiΓ±o sa Cadawinonan, Dumaguete City.

Report said, the victims were detained at Valencia PNP due to the alleged murder of Don Paolo Teves but were released at around 9 in the evening due to technicalities on procedures of their arrest. They were shot along Valencia highway.

SUSPENSION OF CLASSES!

The Office of the Schools Division Superintendent has reiterated the AUTOMATIC SUSPENSION of all classes in the Schools Division of Bais City after PAG-ASA placed Negros Oriental under an Orange Rainfall Warning, Thursaday, January 26, 2023.

School heads and their respective Disaster Risk Reduction and Management coordinators are reminded of the following:

1. Secure all school property for possible flooding.

2. Secure the safety of learners upon sending them home and inform parents about the cancellation.

3. Check attendance.

4. To ensure learners' safety and, therefore, take precautionary measures when sending them home.

5. A memorandum will follow.
