PNP RESCUES OVER ₱5.5-M WORTH OF WILDLIFE, NABS FOREIGN NATIONAL IN SARANGANI

The Philippine National Police (PNP) continues to strengthen its campaign against environmental crimes following the successful rescue of more than ₱5.5 million worth of protected wildlife species and the arrest of a foreign national in Sarangani Province.

The operation was conducted on June 4, 2026, by personnel of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG), in coordination with the Provincial Intelligence Unit of the Sarangani Police Provincial Office, local police units, and the Department of Environment and Natural Resources–Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (DENR-MENRO) of Sarangani.

Authorities recovered several protected wildlife species allegedly being possessed and traded without the permits required under Republic Act No. 9147, otherwise known as the Wildlife Resources Conservation and Protection Act, which regulates the collection, possession, transport, and trade of wildlife and wildlife by-products in the country.

The arrested suspect, identified only by the alias “Son,” an Indonesian national, is facing appropriate charges for alleged violation of RA 9147.

The successful operation underscores the PNP's commitment to protecting the country's biodiversity and natural resources. It also supports the PNP Focused Agenda, particularly under Enhanced Managing Police Operations, through intensified law enforcement efforts against environmental and transnational crimes.

PNP Chief, Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., lauded the operating units and partner agencies for their coordinated efforts.

"Ang tagumpay na ito ay bunga ng mahusay na koordinasyon ng ating mga kapulisan at mga katuwang na ahensya ng pamahalaan. Sa pamamagitan ng sama-samang pagkilos, mas napapalakas natin ang proteksyon sa ating likas na yaman at wildlife resources," PGEN Nartatez said.

"We remain steadfast in enforcing environmental laws and supporting conservation efforts across the country. Our message is simple: the protection of wildlife and the environment is a shared responsibility, and the PNP will continue to do its part in preserving these resources for future generations," he added.

The operation also complements the environmental protection and sustainability initiatives being advanced by the administration of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., recognizing the importance of conserving the nation's natural heritage and maintaining ecological balance.

TWO HVIs ARRESTED IN MISAMIS ORIENTAL BUY-BUST; ₱13.6M SHABU SEIZED

Two High-Value Individuals were arrested in a successful buy-bust operation conducted today in Brgy. Cabantian, Magsaysay, Misamis Oriental, resulting in the seizure of approximately 2,000 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated standard drug price of ₱13,600,000.00, along with buy-bust money and other non-drug evidence.

The operation was carried out by joint elements of the PNP Drug Enforcement Group, Misamis Oriental Police Provincial Office, Regional Mobile Force Battalion 10, and other police units, in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency.

The confiscated drug evidence was turned over to the Regional Forensic Unit 10 for examination.

The successful operation supports the PNP Focused Agenda under Enhanced Managing Police Operations, highlighting strengthened intelligence and inter-agency coordination in the fight against illegal drugs.

FOUR ACCUSED IN BULACAN FLOOD CONTROL CASE ARRESTED IN WARRANT OPERATIONS

Four individuals facing charges of Malversation of Public Funds or Property through Falsification of Public Documents were arrested following separate warrant operations conducted by personnel of the Bulacan Police Provincial Office (Bulacan PPO) on June 5, 2026.

Based on reports, three of the accused—identified through their aliases as “Jun,” 51; “JP,” 41; and “Brice,” 40—were served warrants while already in detention at a facility in Quezon City.

Meanwhile, another accused, 63 years old from Bustos, Bulacan, voluntarily surrendered following coordinated tracking operations. All warrants were issued in connection with alleged irregularities involving a flood control project in Bulacan. No bail was recommended for the case.

The operations were carried out through the coordinated efforts of Bulacan PPO intelligence and police units with support from various operational teams, reflecting strengthened case build-up and focused law enforcement action in line with the Philippine National Police’s Focused Agenda under Enhanced Managing Police Operations. The initiative is aligned with the directives of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to ensure accountability in government projects and strengthen public trust in institutions.

PNP Chief Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. lauded the operating units for the successful implementation of warrants, emphasizing that accountability in public service must be consistently upheld.

“Ang mandato ng PNP ay ipairal ang batas nang pantay para sa lahat. Hindi natin pinapalampas ang mga ganitong kaso dahil kailangan may pananagutan. Kapag may mali, dapat may kasunod na aksyon—para maprotektahan ang pondo ng bayan at manatili ang tiwala ng publiko,” he said.

All accused were informed of their constitutional rights in a language they understand and are now under proper custody pending turnover to the issuing court.

JOINT PNP-AFP OPS YIELD 5 FORMER REBELS, ARMS IN SURIGAO DEL SUR

The Philippine National Police, under the leadership of PNP Chief PGEN Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., in coordination with the Armed Forces of the Philippines, facilitated the voluntary surrender of five PSR-listed (Periodic Status Report) Communist Terrorist Group members on June 2, 2026 in Brgy. Sibahay, Lanuza, Surigao del Sur.

The development stemmed from a unit-initiated counterinsurgency operation conducted by 1SAB, SAF in coordination with the 1301st Maneuver Company, Regional Mobile Force Battalion 13, other PNP units, and the Philippine Army, resulting in the peaceful surrender of an alias “Liping” and four other individuals identified under the Sub-Regional Sentro de Grabidad Wetland of the North Eastern Mindanao Regional Committee for the first quarter of CY 2026.

Surrendered during the operation were high-powered fi****ms and war materiel, including one 7.62mm light machine gun with one drum magazine and 176 rounds of ammunition; four 5.56mm rifles with 11 magazines and 360 rounds of ammunition; one M203 gr***de launcher; and four 40mm high explosive rounds, along with subversive documents and personal belongings.

The surrenderers are currently undergoing documentation for enrollment in the government’s Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program to support their reintegration into mainstream society.

The development highlights sustained government efforts to weaken armed insurgent structures while encouraging individuals to abandon armed struggle and return to peaceful civilian life through continuous operations and community engagement.

The PNP Focused Agenda, a transformation framework designed to make police service more responsive, credible, and community-centered, continues to guide operational efforts, particularly under Enhanced Managing Police Operations and Active Community Support, which reinforce ongoing peacebuilding initiatives and local stakeholder engagement in conflict-affected areas.

PNP DEPLOYS OVER 55,000 TROOPS FOR MONDAY SCHOOL OPENING

The Philippine National Police (PNP) has finalized its security and public safety preparations under "Oplan Balik-Eskwela" to help ensure a peaceful and orderly opening of classes on Monday, June 8.

The operation aims to help ensure the safety of students, teachers, and parents in more than 46,000 public and private schools across the country as millions of learners return to classrooms for the new academic year.

The deployment forms part of the PNP's continuing efforts to strengthen police visibility, maintain public order, and work closely with local government units, school officials, and community partners during the opening of classes. It also supports the government's goal of providing a safe and secure environment for learners as the new school year begins.

A total of 55,409 security personnel will be mobilized across all regional offices to maintain peace and public safety. This deployment includes 29,864 PNP personnel, 4,161 specialized units, and 21,384 force multipliers from local communities. To provide immediate assistance, the PNP has established 6,163 Police Assistance Desks (PADs) and will sustain a strong presence through 9,562 mobile patrols and 9,895 foot patrols in areas surrounding schools and major transport hubs.

Areas with larger student populations and heavier traffic volume, including the Bicol Region and Metro Manila, are receiving additional operational support to help ensure the smooth conduct of school opening activities.

Chief PNP, Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., commended regional offices for their preparations and close coordination with school administrators and local government units.

"Our goal from day one is to make sure that parents feel secure when they send their children back to school this Monday, June 8," PGen Nartatez said. PNP SWIFT ACTION LEADS TO ARREST OF EIGHT INDIVIDUALS, RECOVERY OF STOLEN VEHICLES IN NCR

Eight individuals were arrested and several stolen vehicles were recovered following a swift police operation in the National Capital Region that stemmed from a robbery incident involving a 20-year-old student in the early hours of June 5.

The victim was deprived of his motorcycle and mobile phone in Marikina City. Through the location-tracking feature of the stolen phone, police were able to trace one of the persons involved in Caloocan City. The recovery of the device led to the immediate arrest of the individual and triggered a series of follow-up operations that uncovered additional stolen vehicles and fi****ms.

The coordinated police action resulted in the recovery of seven motorcycles and two motor vehicles believed to be linked to the case. Authorities also recovered two fi****ms that are now undergoing verification as part of the ongoing investigation.

The accomplishment reflects the Philippine National Police’s continuing efforts to strengthen crime prevention and response under its Focused Agenda, particularly through Enhanced Managing Police Operations. PNP NABS 8 REGIONAL TOP MOST WANTED PERSONS IN WESTERN VISAYAS

The Philippine National Police (PNP) announced the successful arrest of eight Regional Most Wanted Persons following a sustained series of coordinated law enforcement operations conducted across Western Visayas from June 1 to June 5, 2026.

The operations were carried out across various areas in the region, resulting in the successive apprehension of priority targets: No. 1. No. 5, and No. 6 on June 1; No. 4 and No. 7 on June 2; No. 3 on June 3; No. 2 on June 4; and No. 10 on June 5.

According to the PNP, the sustained accomplishment was made possible through strengthened intelligence validation, focused police operations, and close coordination among field units, leading to the accounting of all eight targets within just five days.
