The Adopt-A-Cottage 2: I Run, I Care Fun Run was a resounding success, bringing together 1,041 participants in a powerful testament of unity and compassion. Organized by the Davao City Justice Zone (DCJZ) and the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), the event highlighted the community's shared commitment to supporting a meaningful cause and creating a positive impact.

The funds raised will help support the construction of additional detention facilities at the Davao City Jail Annex, promoting more humane living conditions for elderly, sick, and LGBTQ Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs).

The DCJZ extends its heartfelt gratitude to all runners, sponsors, partners, volunteers, and participating agencies whose unwavering support made this event a remarkable success. Your participation reflects the power of collective action in advancing a more compassionate and inclusive justice system.

The Davao City Justice Zone (DCJZ) paid a courtesy visit to Councilor Pamela Librado, Chairperson of Civil, Political, and Human Rights Committee, to explore possible local policy measures that would encourage businesses and establishments to employ Persons Restored of Liberty (PRLs) through the provision of tax incentives/ tax breaks.

By encouraging employers to provide meaningful livelihood opportunities to PRLs, the initiative seeks to reduce recidivism and promote successful reintegration.

The Davao City Justice Zone expresses its gratitude to Councilor Pam Librado for the productive dialogue and openness to advancing policies that foster second chances for the PRLs.

Another batch of student practitioners from Ateneo de Davao University – College of Law formally took their oath before Executive Judge Hon. Rowena M. Apao-Adlawan, together with their Clinical Legal Education Program (CLEP) Supervisor, Atty. Jazzie Sarona.

This milestone marks the formal induction of fifty-one (51) CLEP Level I students as they begin their journey toward the practical application of legal knowledge.

Today, twenty-eight (28) Clinical Legal Education Program (CLEP) Level I students from Ateneo de Davao University – College of Law officially took their oath before the Executive Judge Hon. Rowena M. Apao-Adlawan marking a significant milestone in their legal education.

Accompanied by their CLEP Supervisor, Atty. Jazzie Sarona, the students proudly took this important step as they begin their clinical legal education journey. Through the CLEP, student partitioners will have the opportunity to bridge legal theory with practice in accordance with Rule 138-A of the Rules of Court.
