HONORING OUR HEROES — SALUTING OUR RESERVISTS
Today, we honor the bravery, sacrifice, and patriotism of all Filipino heroes—known and unknown—who gave their lives and service for the freedom and future of our nation.
Their legacy lives on through the Reservists of Northern Luzon—men and women who, despite their civilian professions and personal responsibilities, continue to answer the call of duty and serve the Filipino people.
Throughout Northern Luzon, our reservists continue to contribute to the nation through military training, disaster response and rescue operations, humanitarian assistance, community service, ROTC support, security and preparedness activities, and other missions in support of the Philippine Navy and the Armed Forces of the Philippines.
Their accomplishments demonstrate that service to the country does not end when one leaves active duty. It continues wherever there is a need, wherever there is a community to serve, and whenever the nation calls.
The heroes of yesterday fought for our freedom.
The reservists of today stand ready to protect it.

A new rank is more than an insignia worn on the uniform. 𝐈𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐚 𝐬𝐲𝐦𝐛𝐨𝐥 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐝, 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐚𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐝, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐰𝐞𝐝.

The 𝐍𝐚𝐯𝐚𝐥 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐞 𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫–𝐍𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐧 𝐋𝐮𝐳𝐨𝐧 (𝐍𝐑𝐂𝐞𝐧-𝐍𝐋) conducted a 𝐃𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐟 𝐑𝐚𝐧𝐤𝐬 𝐂𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐲 honoring its newly promoted 𝐨𝐫𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐜 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐥—a meaningful military tradition recognizing their dedication, discipline, professionalism, and faithful service to the Command.

Witnessed by fellow officers, peers, and enlisted personnel, the ceremony marked an important milestone in their careers. The newly donned ranks signify not only their accomplishments, but also the 𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐡𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 that come with their advancement.

More than the insignia on their shoulders, the new rank carries the trust of the organization and a renewed obligation to lead by example, perform every duty with integrity, and contribute to the mission of 𝐍𝐑𝐂𝐞𝐧-𝐍𝐋 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐍𝐚𝐯𝐲.

𝐉𝐀𝐋𝐀𝐍𝐃𝐎𝐍𝐈 𝐏𝐍(𝐌), 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫, 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐝, 𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐍𝐚𝐯𝐲—an occasion that brought together the Naval Reserve family in Northern Luzon to honor his dedicated leadership, guidance, and invaluable contributions to the Reserve Force.
The visit featured a 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐭 𝐁𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐟 highlighting the accomplishments, capabilities, and continuing initiatives of NRCen-NL; a 𝐓𝐚𝐥𝐤 𝐭𝐨 𝐓𝐫𝐨𝐨𝐩𝐬, where MGEN JALANDONI shared his insights and words of encouragement as to why a Navy Reservist should be proud; and a 𝐃𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐟 𝐑𝐚𝐧𝐤𝐬 𝐂𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐲, recognizing reservists whose promotion signifies not only greater rank, but greater responsibility to serve.
The celebration continued with a Fellowship Night, made even more meaningful by the presence of𝐕𝐈𝐂𝐄 𝐀𝐃𝐌𝐈𝐑𝐀𝐋 𝐀𝐋𝐅𝐎𝐍𝐒𝐎 𝐅. 𝐓𝐎𝐑𝐑𝐄𝐒 𝐉𝐑 𝐏𝐍 (𝐑𝐄𝐓), former Commander, Western Command and a proud Mistah of the Guest of Honor, together with key leaders and members of the 8th Marine Brigade Reserve and Naval Forces Reserve – Northern Luzon.
Throughout his leadership, MGEN JALANDONI PN(M) 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐬𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐟𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐦, 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞, 𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞 within the Reserve Command - PN. Today, those seeds continue to take root—in the leaders he mentored, in the reservists he inspired, and in the organization he helped strengthen.

The 𝐁𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐜 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐳𝐞𝐧 𝐌𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞 (𝐁𝐂𝐌𝐂) is more than 30 days of training—it is a journey of transformation. From civilians who choose to serve, the course develops disciplined, resilient, and capable individuals prepared to become part of the 𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐍𝐚𝐯𝐲 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐞 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐜𝐞.
Through military customs and traditions, leadership, physical conditioning, close-order drills, basic soldiering skills, marksmanship, and lessons on national defense and disaster response, trainees are challenged to go beyond their limits and discover what it truly means to serve.
