PNP NABS NO. 1 REGIONAL MOST WANTED PERSON IN NEGROS OCCIDENTAL

The Philippine National Police (PNP), under the leadership of PNP Chief, Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., announced the arrest of a Regional Most Wanted Person during a law enforcement operation conducted on May 28, 2026, in Brgy. Rizal, Silay City, Negros Occidental.

Arrested was a 43-year-old male suspect known by the alias “Clarito,” who was facing multiple charges related to frustrated and attempted murder in connection with a shooting incident that occurred during the recent election period in Silay City.

The operation was carried out by operatives of Silay City Component City Police Station following the issuance of warrants by a Regional Trial Court in Silay City.

The suspect was informed of his constitutional rights and anti-torture warning before being placed under police custody for proper documentation and turnover to the court of origin.

The successful operation reflects the continuing efforts of the PNP to strengthen law enforcement and public safety under its focused agenda on Enhanced Managing Police Operations, in support of the peace and order initiatives of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.

Chief PNP, Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., commended the operating units for the lawful and orderly conduct of the operation.

“Patuloy nating paiigtingin ang ating manhunt operations laban sa mga taong may kinahaharap na kaso upang matiyak na umiiral ang rule of law at mapanatili ang kaayusan sa ating mga komunidad. Ang mahalaga rito ay maayos, legal, at may paggalang sa karapatan ng bawat isa ang ating operasyon,” the PNP Chief said.

He added that the accomplishment also highlights the commitment of the police organization to work professionally and consistently with the communities they serve.

The PNP assured the public that operations against wanted persons will continue in coordination with the courts and other concerned agencies as part of its commitment to safer communities under the banner of Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat at Nararamdaman.
