The Bangsamoro Parliamentโs Committee on Public Order and Safety has adopted a resolution urging the establishment of a Bangsamoro Peace Institution Center to strengthen peacebuilding efforts through moral values, interfaith harmony, and coordinated community-based programs across the region.
Proposed Resolution No. 800, authored by Member of Parliament Amiroddin Gayak, calls for a centralized platform for peace education, psychosocial support, research, and capacity-building programs involving local governments, civil society, and other stakeholders.
The committee is also set to conduct a series of public hearings in June on measures covering conflict-sensitive planning, the safety and welfare of minors, and the establishment of a comprehensive regulatory framework for fi****ms and ammunition in the region.
It also agreed to conduct a roundtable discussion with the Bangsamoro Darul Ifta, Bangsamoro Human Rights Commission, Philippine National Police, and the Ministry of Health for proposed Resolution No. 808, authored by MP Omar Yasser Sema, which reiterates guidance on post-mortem examinations in gunshot cases and seeks alignment of forensic protocols with Islamic jurisprudence and Republic Act No. 12160.
