The Peace, Security and Reconciliation Office, headed by Director II Kashmir A. Mohammad, successfully conducted its 7th Monthly Staff Meeting for the year, marked by productive discussions and participation. Also in attendance with the Director II were Director I for Reconciliation, Malik J. Caril and Director I for Peace and Security, Hafiz A. Abuhuraira. They were also joined by distinguished Community Development Officers III Faisal P. Sali, Ayobkhan M. Usman, and Dennis O. Francisco and Community Development Officer III Sheikh Maceda M. Interino.

The meeting served as a platform to present updates, address key challenges, and outline priorities for the coming month. This also took time to assess performance metrics, identify areas for improvement, and reinforce our commitment to excellence. Constructive feedback and shared insights remain essential as we strive for continuous growth. Such regular engagements allow us to strengthen our alignment with organizational goals and standards.

The Peace, Security and Reconciliation Office (PSRO) successfully conducted a Benchmarking Visit and Learning Exchange in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, held from June 23โ€“30, 2026, led by Director II Kashmir A. Mohammad.

The benchmarking visit brought together a 21-member delegation composed of representatives from the PSRO and offices from the Office of the Chief Minster - BARMM including the Administrative Management Service (AMS) โ€“ Property and Supply Division (PSD), AMS โ€“ Records Division, Financial Management Services (FMS) โ€“ Accounting Division, FMS โ€“ Cash Division, the Bangsamoro Library and Archives, and the Intelligence and Security Services (ISS), reflecting a shared commitment to strengthening institutional collaboration and enhancing governance through international learning and knowledge exchange.

The activity commenced with a courtesy visit to the Philippine Embassy in Kuala Lumpur, where the delegation was warmly received by Deputy Head of Mission Mr. Roussel Reyes following a briefing conducted by Atty. Janis Mahalia A. Orbita-Lantud. The briefing provided valuable insights into Malaysia's political, economic, and socio-cultural landscape, as well as the Embassy's role in advancing Philippine interests.

As part of the learning exchange, the delegation visited esteemed Malaysian Institutions including International Institute of Advanced Islamic Studies (IAIS) Malaysia, a government think tank focusing on global Islamic affairs, the Universiti Malaya International Relations Centre (IRC), and the Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia International Relations Centre (UKM Global). These engagements provided valuable insights into best practices in peacebuilding, governance, research, higher education, digital transformation, and institutional development while fostering meaningful exchanges with their Malaysian counterparts.

This benchmarking initiative underscores PSRO's commitment to continuous learning, capacity building, and forging strategic partnerships that contribute to responsive governance and sustainable peace in the Bangsamoro.

KUALA LUMPUR - The Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) - Peace, Security and Reconciliation Office (PSRO), led by Director Kashmir A. Mohammad, conducted a benchmarking visit to Malaysia from 23-30 June 2026.

The 21-member delegation engaged with various Malaysian institutions, including the Institute of Advanced Islamic Studies (IAIS), a government think tank focusing on global Islamic affairs, the Universiti Malaya International Relations Centre (UM IRC), and the Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia International Relations Centre (UKM Global), to strengthen BARMM-PSROโ€™s institutional capacity through exposure to Malaysiaโ€™s established best practices, innovative systems, and proven development strategies in peacebuilding, governance, and related sectors.

Chargรฉ dโ€™affaires, a. i. Roussel Reyes received the delegation at the Philippine Embassy in Kuala Lumpur on 24 June 2026 and expressed the Embassyโ€™s support for BARMM-PSROโ€™s efforts to promote peace, security, and reconciliation through knowledge exchange and international cooperation.
