IN PHOTOS | Kapatiran Troops Support Flood Response in Sto. Niño, Marikina

Personnel of the 12th Civil-Military Operations Battalion (12CMOBn), through its 2nd CMO Company, under the operational control of the National Capital Region Command (NCRCOM), AFP, supported local Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) and rescue efforts in Barangay Sto. Niño, Marikina City, on the night of 29 August 2026.

Earlier in the day, Kapatiran troops coordinated with the Marikina City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MCDRRMO) and Barangay Sto. Niño to monitor the situation and prepare to augment humanitarian assistance requirements as needed.

Later that evening, the CMO Rescue Team, working alongside barangay officials and tanods, responded to Ayungin Street and assisted affected residents in moving to safer areas.

The operation highlights the importance of close coordination with civilian authorities, with Kapatiran troops providing timely support to LGU and barangay-led disaster-response efforts.

CAVITE — In response to the continuous heavy rainfall brought about by the enhanced Southwest Monsoon (Habagat), the 2nd Civil-Military Operations (Bagwis) Company, 2nd Civil-Military Operations Battalion, Civil-Military Operations Regiment, Philippine Army (2CMOBn, CMOR, PA), in coordination with the Cavite Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO), deployed a composite Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Response (HADR) team to assist the Municipality of Ternate, Cavite, on 29–30 August 2026.

In support of the local government’s disaster response efforts, the Bagwis Company mobilized personnel and transportation assets to augment the Ternate Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) and facilitate the timely delivery of essential relief assistance to affected communities.

During the operation, the deployed personnel provided manpower and transportation assistance in the distribution and delivery of relief goods to approximately 160 families in Barangays San Juan Uno, San Juan Dos, Poblacion, and San Jose, Ternate, Cavite.

The activity was conducted in coordination with Hon. Laurel Lindo, Acting Mayor of Ternate, and the MDRRMO personnel led by Mr. Sixto Caisip Jr., Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Officer (LDRRMO).

Through this HADR operation, the Bagwis Company reaffirmed its commitment to public service and community resilience by strengthening coordination with the local government and disaster response agencies, while ensuring the timely delivery of humanitarian assistance to families affected by the adverse effects of Habagat.

BAGWIS, READY TO RESPOND: STRENGTHENING DISASTER PREPAREDNESS AMID THE SOUTHWEST MONSOON

DASMARIÑAS CITY, CAVITE — As the enhanced Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) continues to bring heavy rainfall, the 2nd Civil-Military Operations (Bagwis) Company conducted a troop mustering on 29 August 2026 at H2CMO, Sitio Buisan, Barangay Langkaan II, Dasmariñas City, Cavite.

The activity focused on ensuring the readiness, accountability, and availability of personnel and HADR equipment for possible deployment in support of disaster response efforts.

Through proactive preparedness and coordination, Bagwis remains ready to respond and assist communities affected by weather-related hazards, reinforcing the Philippine Army’s commitment to protecting lives and serving communities in times of need.

NCRCOM, SA PAMAMAGITAN NG 12TH CMO BATTALION, NAGSAGAWA NG RESCUE AT EVACUATION OPERATIONS SA GITNA NG HABAGAT

KAMPO HENERAL EMILIO AGUINALDO, QUEZON CITY — Bilang bahagi ng patuloy na humanitarian assistance and disaster response operations ng National Capital Region Command (NCRCOM), agarang nagsagawa ang 12th Civil-Military Operations Battalion (12CMOBn) ng rescue, evacuation, at relief operations sa mga komunidad na naapektuhan ng pagbaha sa Marikina at Caloocan City noong ika-29 ng Agosto 2026.

Sa Barangay 176-A, Bagong Silang, Caloocan City, nagsagawa ang mga tauhan ng monitoring at assessment sa mga lugar na naapektuhan ng biglaang pagbaha. Umabot sa 74 na pamilya o 296 na indibidwal ang paunang inilikas sa ligtas na lugar sa Phase 4.

Patuloy ding nakipag-ugnayan ang yunit sa pamahalaang barangay upang matiyak ang ligtas at maayos na paglikas ng iba pang residenteng nanganganib dahil sa posibleng patuloy na pagtaas ng tubig.

Sa Barangay 176-B, nagsagawa naman ang mga tauhan, katuwang ang Barangay Task Force, ng rescue at evacuation operations. Tinulungan nilang makalikas ang mga residente mula sa kanilang mga tahanan at makapunta sa mga itinakdang ligtas na lugar. Nagbigay rin sila ng gabay hinggil sa wastong pamamaraan ng paglikas upang matiyak ang kaligtasan ng mga apektadong pamilya.

Samantala, nagsagawa rin ang 12CMOBn ng rescue at evacuation operations sa Barangay Malanday, Marikina City. Katuwang ang mga opisyal at responder ng barangay, tinulungan ng mga tauhan ang mga residenteng makalikas patungo sa Malanday Elementary School at iba pang evacuation center.

Bilang bahagi ng relief assistance, tumulong din ang mga tauhan sa pamamahagi ng pagkain at 3,000 bote ng mineral water sa mga pamilyang pansamantalang nanunuluyan sa Malanday Elementary School.

Nananatiling nakaantabay ang NCRCOM at mga yunit nito at patuloy na nakikipag-ugnayan sa mga lokal na pamahalaan at iba pang katuwang na ahensiya. Patuloy din ang pagmamanman sa mga lugar na binaha, pagtataya sa antas ng tubig, at paghahanda para sa posibleng karagdagang rescue, evacuation, at relief operations sa Metro Manila.

Sa harap ng masamang panahon, nananatiling handa ang NCRCOM, katuwang ang 12th CMO Battalion, sa pagtiyak sa kaligtasan at agarang pagtugon sa pangangailangan ng mga apektadong mamamayan.

Personnel of the 12th Civil-Military Operations Battalion (12CMOBn) under operational control of the National Capital Region Command (NCRCOM),AFP, through its 2nd CMO Company, supported local flood-response and evacuation efforts in Bagong Silang, Caloocan City, on 29 August 2026, following heavy rains brought by the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat).

Working alongside barangay officials and local responders, Kapatiran troops assisted in the safe movement of affected residents to evacuation areas. In Barangay 176-A, 74 families composed of 296 individuals were initially evacuated, while troops also supported rescue and evacuation efforts in Barangay 176-B.

Despite difficult conditions, personnel continued supporting barangay authorities and local responders in assisting affected families and helping ensure the safety of residents.

The 12CMOBn remains ready to support LGUs, barangays, and partner agencies in providing timely assistance to communities during emergencies and disasters.

PAF NEWS | PAF MOBILIZES FOR HABAGAT RESPONSE IN NORTHERN LUZON

Ready to respond. Ready to serve.

The Philippine Air Force (PAF) mobilized its personnel and assets to deliver Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Response (HADR) to communities affected by the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) in Northern Luzon.

With its personnel, resources, and operational capabilities on standby, the PAF swiftly responded to the needs of affected communities, working alongside local authorities and other responders to provide assistance where it was most needed.

The operations underscore the PAF’s commitment to maintaining mission readiness and responsive airpower in times of crisis—extending its service beyond defense of the nation to the protection and welfare of the Filipino people.

When communities need help, the PAF is ready to respond.

LOOK II AFP deploys Disaster Response Units for Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Response (HADR) Operations in Central Luzon

The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) deployed personnel, vehicles, and other HADR assets to Tarlac, Pampanga, and Bataan to support local government units and disaster response agencies in addressing the severe effects of the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) on August 29, 2026.

AFP disaster response teams assisted in the transport and distribution of relief supplies, supported rescue operations in flood-affected communities and helped distribute food packs to affected areas in Central Luzon.

The AFP continues to work alongside national and local government agencies in delivering timely assistance, protecting communities, and saving lives in support of its mandate for humanitarian assistance and disaster response.
