Today’s TLE and TVL Department LAC Session✨
On a productive afternoon dedicated to professional growth, the TLE and TVL Department held a Learning Action Cell (LAC) session with the engaging topic: “Crafting Test Questions with the Use of the Table of Specifications (TOS).” The session aimed to enhance the teachers’ skills in developing valid, reliable, and competency-based test questions aligned with curriculum standards.
The session was spearheaded by our LAC speaker, Ma’am Ferdilyn Ygot-Rodrigo, whose passion for assessment and evaluation brought clarity and insight to the teachers. She thoroughly discussed the importance of using the Table of Specifications as a blueprint in test construction, and the quality of Test Questions crafted. This ensuring that every assessment reflects a balance of competencies, learning objectives, and difficulty levels.
Guided by the leadership of our LAC facilitator, Ma’am Donesa Rosell, and supported by the meticulous documentation of LAC secretary, Ma’am Shella Hijapon, the session flowed seamlessly. Teachers actively engaged in interactive discussions and hands-on activities, sharing their experiences and insights while constructing test questions that are not only fair but also reflective of the learners’ varied skills and knowledge levels.
Adding an extra layer of professional rigor, Ma’am Rubena Rosell, our Master Teacher — the Process Observer, attentively monitored the proceedings. She provided valuable feedback, ensuring that the objectives of the session were achieved and that every participant left with practical strategies to apply in their respective classes.
The collaborative activities fostered a dynamic environment where every teacher contributed ideas, asked meaningful questions, and reflected on current practices. It was evident that this session strengthened not only the department’s technical expertise but also its camaraderie and commitment to delivering quality education.
In the end, the LAC session was a success, empowering teachers to craft better assessments that truly measure students’ learning. With renewed confidence and enhanced skills, the TLE and TVL teachers are now more prepared to create well-structured examinations that uphold the principles of fairness, balance, and validity — ensuring that every learner’s progress is measured with integrity and precision.
