Your Philippine Navy remains steadfast in its commitment to disaster preparedness! ⚓️🇵🇭

The Officers and Crew of BRP ALBERTO NAVARRETE (PC394) actively participated in the 1st Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) 2026 at Nasipit Port, Agusan del Norte.

Aside from the standard "Duck, Cover, and Hold," our team also conducted an Emergency Getting Underway (EGU) Drill and a simulated Water Search and Rescue (WASAR) operation to ensure we are ready to respond to any secondary maritime emergencies.

Disaster resilience is a shared responsibility. Together with our partners from the PCG, MDRRMO, and PNP, we continue to sharpen our skills to better serve and protect the Filipino people.

TRANSITION | BRP ALBERTO NAVARRETE (PC394) Change of Command Ceremony

The Skipper of BRP ALBERTO NAVARRETE (PC394) tendered his farewell through a Change of Command Ceremony presided by the Commander, Naval Task Force 71, Captain Junjie B Tabuada PN(MNSA) held at Macabalan Wharf, Macabalan, Cagayan de Oro City last 27 May 2025.

Lcdr James B Dinglasan Jr PN a proud member of PMA "Maragtas" Class of 2007 formally handed over his duties and responsibilities to Lcdr James Adriano D Balois PN in Acting Capacity as Commanding Officer of BRP ALBERTO NAVARRETE (PC394)

"A change of command is a military tradition that represents a formal transfer of authority and responsibility for a unit from one commander to another", conveyed by the Commander, Naval Task Force 71 on his speech. It is indeed memorable to witness the traditional Change of Command Ceremony on decks of the Unit being handed over and under the eyes of its strong willed crew.

BRP ALBERTO NAVARRETE (PC394) participated in the Simultaneous Flag Raising Ceremony which includes the recitation of the Commitment Oath-Taking Ceremony and the reading of the CSAFP message last 05 August 2024 at Nasipit Port, Nasipit, Agusan del Norte.

ON TRAINING | BRP ALBERTO NAVARRETE (PC394) conducted its Annual Marksmanship Training last 02 August 2024.

The conduct of Annual Marksmanship Training of this Unit was successfully concluded last 02 August 2024 aboard 23rd Infantry "Masigasig" Battalion firing range, Philippine Army (PA), Jamboree Site, Barangay Alubijid, Buenavista, Agusan del Norte. On site, the Range NCO of 23rd IB, PA carried-out short lecture and briefing on Cardinal Rules of Gun Safety prior the start of the activity.

Personnel of this Unit were tested in using small arms which includes M16 rifles and Cal .45 Pistols in manners of standing, kneeling and prone position each of which is associated with different distances from the target. The conduct of Annual Marksmanship Training not only aims to ensure confidence and proficiency and to elevate skills of personnel but also to check and maintain the operational condition of issued small arms aboard this Unit.

ON CIVIL MILITARY AFFAIRS | BRP ALBERTO NAVARRETE (PC394) participated in the Fun Run 2024 event in Celebration of the 47th Founding Anniversary of Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) of Nasipit, Agusan Del Norte.

The Crew of BRP ALBERTO NAVARRETE (PC394) indulged themselves with enthusiasm as they joined the 3km fun run conducted within the premises of Nasipit Port, Agusan del Norte last 31 July 2024. The said event was participated by over 150 individuals coming from PPA, Port Police, PMO, Philippine Navy, Philippine Coast Guard and encouraged crew of vessels berthed at Nasipit Port.

Showcasing teamwork, the personnel from this Unit greatly influenced the participants as they ended the race in a platoon run manner. Dragged along is the 1st female to complete the race and was declared winner for the female category.

The engagement significantly strengthened our relationship and camaraderie amongst our civilian counterparts and further promotes the Unit's advocacy on health and wellness.

ON MORALE AND WELFARE | Joint Culminating Activity of 100-Days Weight Loss Challenge and Opening of BMI Challenge of BRP ALBERTO NAVARRETE (PC394)

As a background, last 25 April 2024 BRP ALBERTO NAVARRETE (PC394) launched an initiative 100-Days Weight Loss Program spearheaded by their Commanding Officer. Personnel from this Unit seriously accepted the challenge and equipped themselves with determination, discipline and consistent self-control.

On 30 July 2024, the 100-Days Weight Loss Challenge was concluded simultaneously opening the BMI Challenge as a continuity version of the initiative program of this Unit.

Three Personnel from this unit were recognized as top winners of the 100-Days Weight Loss Challenge with their corresponding starting weight, final weight and total weight lost namely:

1st - EM3 Eugene L Conde: 101.32kg - 81.95kg = 19.37kg
2nd - S1QM Dick Russel A Hisona: 83.9kg - 65.55kg = 18.35kg
3rd - S1RD Junnar A Alibanto: 78.68kg - 63.80kg = 14.88kg

Proclaimed winners were awarded with complimentary items and with the support of the Commander, NTG71.2. Their unfathomable efforts and self-sacrificed journey on the 100-Days Weight Loss Challenge were finally paid-off.

Despite of the arduous workload, personnel from this Unit managed to complete the Challenge with flying colors notwithstanding the mission of this Unit.
