PhilHealth Regional Office VII’s Membership Section, in partnership with LHIO Dumaguete, brought YAKAP services closer to persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) through a YAKAP Caravan held at the Dumaguete City District Jail Male Dormitory in Brgy. Bajumpandan, Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental.
153 PDLs benefited in the Caravan, which included orientation on PhilHealth membership and benefits, plus services such as member registration, updating of membership records, and PhilHealth ID printing services.
In collaboration with the Dumaguete Primary Care Facility, 145 participants also underwent their First Patient Encounter (FPE), a key step in accessing primary care services under YAKAP.
The activity supported the health and well-being of PDLs by providing easier access to PhilHealth membership and primary care services, complementing ongoing efforts toward their rehabilitation and reintegration.
