𝐓𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐭 𝐧𝐚 𝐋𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐤𝐨𝐝, 𝐌𝐚𝐮𝐧𝐥𝐚𝐝 𝐧𝐚 𝐊𝐨𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐝!

Bilang pagtalima sa Presidential Proclamation No. 63, s. 1992, ipinagdiriwang ng Kagawaran ng Interyor at Pamahalaang Lokal (DILG) ang Local Government Month ngayong Oktubre!

Ngayong buwan, hindi lamang natin ginugunita ang Local Government Week (ikalawang linggo ng Oktubre) at ang Local Government Day (Oktubre 10)—binibigyang-pugay din natin ang bawat punong barangay, myembro ng sanggunian, alkalde, gobernador, at kawani ng gobyerno na walang sawang naglilingkod sa ating mga komunidad.

Mula barangay hanggang sa kapitolyo, ang inyong sipag at malasakit ang tunay na pundasyon ng isang matatag at maunlad na bansa.

The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Cluster B conducted its monthly meeting on September 29, 2026 at the City Mayor’s Office, Trece Martires City, Cavite.

The meeting focused on the discussion and cascading of key updates, directives, and significant matters arising from the recently conducted Regional Team Conference, providing the Cluster an avenue to ensure proper alignment, coordination, and implementation of the Department’s programs, priorities, and initiatives.

The activity also served as an opportunity to strengthen coordination and collaboration among Cluster B personnel in support of the Department’s continuing commitment to effective, responsive, and accountable local governance and public service.

The DILG Cluster B extends its sincere appreciation to 𝐇𝐨𝐧. 𝐆𝐞𝐦𝐦𝐚 𝐁𝐮𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐚-𝐋𝐮𝐛𝐢𝐠𝐚𝐧, City Mayor of Trece Martires City, for her support and assistance in ensuring the successful conduct of the activity. Her continued support for initiatives that promote inter-agency coordination and effective local governance is highly valued.

The Cluster remains committed to sustaining strong collaboration and coordination toward the attainment of the Department’s goals and the delivery of quality public service.

KAINANG PAMILYA MAHALAGA DAY | WORK SUSPENSION

The DILG Cluster B joins the observance of Kainang Pamilya Mahalaga Day, recognizing the importance of family meals in strengthening relationships, fostering meaningful conversations, and nurturing the values that keep Filipino families strong.

In celebration of this special occasion, work is suspended to give everyone an opportunity to pause, reconnect, and spend quality time with their loved ones—because beyond our duties and responsibilities, family remains one of our greatest sources of strength and inspiration.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Kainang Pamilya Mahalaga—dahil ang bawat salu-salo ay pagkakataon upang magbuklod, magpasalamat, at magmahal.

📢 FOREIGN TRAVEL AUTHORITY (FTA) SERIES | PART 1 OF 4 ✈️

May official o unofficial foreign travel ka ba bilang local official? 🌏✈️

Bago maghanda ng itinerary at mag-book ng flight, alamin muna kung sino ang may authority na mag-approve ng iyong foreign travel!

Ayon sa Department Circular No. 2026-017, effective September 7, 2026, may mga itinakdang approving authorities para sa foreign travel ng local officials.

Sino-sino ang mga local officials na ang foreign travel ay sakop ng approval ng Secretary of the Interior and Local Government (SILG)?

• Provincial Governors
• Mayors of Highly Urbanized Cities (HUCs)

• Mayor of Pateros

The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) has restructured the approval of foreign travel requests of local government officials and employees following a Malacañang directive authorizing the DILG Secretary to further delegate such authority.

Administrative Order No. 47, s. 2026 authorizes the DILG Secretary to further delegate the approval of foreign travel requests of local officials and employees. Previously, the authority delegated by the President rested with the DILG Secretary.

Under DILG Circular No. 2026-017, the Secretary remains the approving authority for all official and unofficial foreign travel of Provincial Governors, Highly Urbanized City and Independent Component City (HUC/ICC) Mayors, and the Municipal Mayor of Pateros.

The Secretary will also approve foreign travel of provincial, city, and municipal elective officials when the trip exceeds three months or takes place during an emergency or crisis.

For official trips of three months or less and when there is no emergency or crisis, DILG Regional Directors are authorized to approve the foreign travel of provincial, city, and municipal elective officials.

Regional Directors will also act on official and unofficial foreign travel requests of appointive officials and employees of the same local governments when the trip exceeds three months or occurs during an emergency or crisis.

For barangays in component cities and municipalities, DILG Provincial Directors are authorized to approve official and unofficial foreign travel of elective and appointive officials when the trip exceeds three months or takes place during an emergency or crisis. For barangays in HUCs and ICCs, such requests will be acted upon by the DILG City Director.

The revised approval mechanism took effect on September 7, 2026.
The DILG continues to process applications through its Foreign Travel Authority Online System (FTA OS), where applicants may submit the required documents electronically.

The new mechanism decentralizes the processing of certain foreign travel requests while retaining the Secretary’s approval authority over specified local officials and travel circumstances.
