SW1 Norie Jane R Caculba PCG is currently assigned at the Coast Guard Security and Border Protection Force (CGSBPF), where she serves as Petty Officer - in-Charge, Admin and Personnel. She is a proud member of the Coast Guardsman’s Course “SANDARAGAT” Class 63-2017, representing dedication, professionalism, and excellence in service.
A graduate of Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a licensed nurse, SW1 Caculba brings with her a strong foundation of compassion and care.

During the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, she served as a frontliner under Task Force COVID-19 (IACP2), contributing her skills and commitment to protect communities and support the nation during a time of crisis. Her service reflects courage, resilience, and an unwavering sense of duty.

The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) assisted law enforcement authorities in the seizure of seven kilograms of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride (shabu) worth around ₱47.6 million during a joint maritime operation in the vicinity waters off Barangay Sibutu, Tawi-Tawi, on March 11, 2026.
The Coast Guard Sub-Station Sibutu secured the sea exit point, while operatives from the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) conducted the interdiction and arrested two Filipino suspects.
The recovered illegal drugs and the arrested individuals were turned over to the Municipal Police Station Sibutu for documentation and further investigation, in line with President Ferdinand R Marcos Jr’s anti-illegal drug campaign.
Authorities are preparing charges for violation of Republic Act No. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
The operation involved coordinated efforts from the PCG, PNP, PDEA, Marine Battalion Landing Team-4, Regional Mobile Force Battalion 14B, RMFB 1405th, the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit, and the Tawi-Tawi Police Provincial Office.

The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) vessel BRP Teresa Magbanua (MRRV-9701) joined the 14th Multilateral Maritime Cooperative Activity (MMCA) with Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Australian Defense Force, and the United States Indo Pacific Command, in the West Philippine Sea (WPS) on February 15 to 16, 2026.
The MMCA consists of a series of exercises focused on Communication Drills, Maritime Domain Awareness, Tactical Maneuvering, Replenishment at Sea (RAS) operations, and a concluding hot wash between the Philippines and the Australia.
This activity is in preparation for the Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC), one of the biggest maritime cooperative activity this year that will be held in Hawaii.
The success of the 14th MMCA, which is the 1st Multilateral cooperative activity of the year, reaffirms the steadfast commitment of the PCG to further strengthening its strategic partnerships and improve maritime security and raise maritime domain awareness.
"This activity demonstrate the PCG operational capabilities and readiness in conducting maritime exercises along with like-minded nations," Commanding Officer, BRP Teresa Magbanua (MRRV-9701), Captain Alvin Dagalea PCG stated, after the successful conduct of the 14th MMCA.

Coast Guard Security and Border Protection Force (CGSBPF) spearheaded by CAPT JOHN M AGUINALDO PCG - Commander, CGSBPF - successfully conducted a Firing Qualification Test and Gun Safety Seminar to strengthen operational readiness and reinforce responsible firearm handling, Yesterday, 13 February 2026.

Personnel demonstrated discipline, precision, and commitment to safety while enhancing their skills under the guidance of certified instructors from Coast Guard K9 Force led by CPO Antonio S Bregala Jr PCG.

The seminar emphasized proper firearm protocols, situational awareness, and safety-first principles — ensuring that every member remains mission-ready and accountable.

We, the CGSBPF remain dedicated to excellence, professionalism, and public safety in every operation.

𝐈𝐍 𝐏𝐇𝐎𝐓𝐎𝐒: In line with the 2026 MARSLEC Pre-Valentine’s Day Celebration, the Maritime Security Law Enforcement Command (MARSLEC) successfully conducted its 1st Quarter MARSLEC Health Summit on Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV), Syphilis, and Hepatitis B at the Coast Guard Base Taguig on 11 February 2026.

The Health Summit was led by Commander, MARSLEC 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐀𝐝𝐦𝐢𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐀𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧 𝐉 𝐃𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧 𝐏𝐂𝐆 (𝐌𝐍𝐒𝐀), who also serves as the Health Service Administrator of the Philippine Coast Guard Medical Dispensary, in collaboration with the Taguig Social Hygiene Clinic & Drop-In Center. The activity welcomed participants from the Coast Guard Human Resource Management Command and other Coast Guard Base Taguig Tenant Units.

The summit aimed to raise awareness, enhance understanding, and promote preventive measures against HIV, Syphilis, and Hepatitis B, three serious yet preventable health conditions. Through this initiative, MARSLEC demonstrated that caring for its people is just as important as protecting the seas. The Command believes that healthy, informed, and supported personnel build a stronger, more resilient Coast Guard.

Beyond lectures and discussions, the event also offered free testing for HIV, Syphilis, and Hepatitis B, giving personnel a safe and supportive opportunity to know their status and take charge of their well-being.

READY IN MIND, READY IN SERVICE ⚓️

LOOK: Coast Guard Security and Border Protection Force personnel undergo Mental Health Awareness training to bolster frontline readiness.

Eighteen (18) personnel from the Coast Guard Security and Border Protection Force (CGSPBPF), spearheaded by CAPT JOHN M AGUINALDO PCG - Commander, CGSBPF, participated in a Mental Health Awareness Program last 06 February 2026 at the HMARSLEC Building, Coast Guard Base Taguig, Taguig City. conducted by the Coast Guard Nursing Service Sub-Unit Base Taguig, led by ENS MICHAEL YAP PCG.

The activity formed part of the CGSPBPF’s continuing efforts to ensure that its personnel are equipped with healthy coping strategies for work-related and personal challenges. It also aimed to build a supportive workplace by fostering empathy, teamwork, and mutual support within the organization.

This initiative supports the Philippine Coast Guard’s commitment to promoting the well-being, resilience, and overall mental readiness of its personnel, while strengthening the collective preparedness of Coast Guard personnel in performing the PCG’s mandated functions.

Look: Eighteen (18) Personnel from Coast Guard Security and Border Protection Force completed the two (2) day Basic Life Support facilitated by CG Nursing Service Sub-Unit Base Taguig led by LTJG SHEILA MAY V ESCOBAR PCG which was held from 05-06 February 2026 at HMARSLEC Building Coast Guard Base Taguig, Taguig City.

The activity was part of the CGSBPF's continuing efforts to ensure that it's personnel are equip with knowledge and skills needed to respond immediately and effectively during medical and emergency situations. The training provides the personnel the essential skills to Recognize life-threatening situation, Perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), Management of Foreign Body Airway Obstruction (FBAO), and Utilize an Automated External Defibrillator (AED). These skills ensure the immediate care can be delivered during "Golden Minutes" before medical responders arrive, significantly increasing the chance of survival and recovery.

This initiative supports the Philippine Coast Guard's commitment to developing the highly capable, professional, and mission-ready workplace. In harmony with the PCG's iCARE program, it promotes a culture of continuous learning, advances professional growth, and strengthens the collective preparedness of Coast Guard personnel in performing PCG's mandated functions.

𝐈𝐍𝐂𝐈𝐃𝐄𝐍𝐓 𝐑𝐄𝐏𝐎𝐑𝐓: The Philippine Coast Guard(PCG) rendered assistance to distressed fishermen in the vicinity waters off Barangay Baluno, Isabela City, Basilan, today, February 4, 2026.
According to CGSS Malamawi, the fishermen were underway from Zamboanga City to Isabela City, carrying ice chests filled with fish, when they encountered rough sea conditions and large waves that caused water to enter their motorbanca. As a safety measure to prevent further danger, the crew decided to discard 14 ice chests of fish.
The PCG team towed the distressed motorbanca to CGSS Malamawi and conducted a health assessment of the fishermen. The two crew members were in good condition but sustained minor wounds on their finger and foot, which were immediately treated by the team.
The fishermen were later brought to Basilan Medical Center for further medical assessment.

𝐔𝐏𝐃𝐀𝐓𝐄: Coast Guard District Southwestern Mindanao (CGDSWM) Commander, Commodore Rejard Marfe PCG, confirms the location of the sunken MV Trisha Kerstin 3 approximately 1.8 nautical miles off Baluk-Baluk Island, Basilan, today, February 4, 2026.
PCG technical divers have safely entered the sunken vessel as part of the ongoing underwater assessment operations.
Commodore Marfe stated that the Technical Diving Group (TDG) positively identified the wreck after clearly reading the vessel’s name, MV Trisha Kerstin 3, marked on the ship’s body.
He also shared the two cadavers recovered today was retrieved by the TDG from the sunken vessel’s railings.
Dive operations are being conducted in accordance with the approved dive plan, with the objective of further assessing the vessel’s condition and supporting possible additional recovery efforts.
