Virac Fire Station personnel, headed by FINSP JOSE Y LEE JR, Acting Municipal Fire Marshal, recently conducted a comprehensive firefighting return demonstration for Criminology interns from Catanduanes Polytechnic Institute College (CPIC), providing hands-on training that bridges theoretical knowledge with practical emergency response skills.

Under the guidance of experienced fire officers, the interns participated in various firefighting techniques including proper handling of fire hoses, extinguisher operation, and basic fire suppression methods. The demonstration emphasized the critical importance of teamwork, quick decision-making, and proper safety protocols during emergency situations.

FO2 Bilono highlighted the significance of such training for future law enforcement officers: "Criminology professionals are often first responders in emergency situations. Having basic firefighting skills can save lives and property while waiting for dedicated fire units to arrive."

The interns practiced with actual firefighting equipment under controlled conditions, proper hose handling techniques, and effective communication during emergency operations. The return demonstration served as a practical assessment of their learning throughout the internship program.

This collaboration between the Virac Fire Station and CPIC's Criminology department exemplifies the community's commitment to developing well-rounded emergency responders equipped with diverse skills to serve and protect the public effectively.

In line with the Bureau of Fire Protection’s commitment to community safety, Virac Fire Station, headed by FINSP JOSE Y LEE JR, Acting Municipal Fire Marshal, successfully conducted a Fire Square Road Show participated in by Christian Polytechnic Institute of Catanduanes 4th Year Criminology students.
The activity featured five (5) interactive stations, namely: Basic Ropemanship, Kitchen Fire Safety, Fire Extinguisher Operation, Basic Life Support, and Bandaging and Splinting. Each station provided hands-on learning and practical demonstrations aimed at enhancing the participants’ knowledge and skills in fire prevention, emergency response, and life-saving techniques.
This initiative serves to equip future law enforcement professionals with essential competencies in handling emergency situations, while strengthening collaboration between the Bureau of Fire Protection and the academic sector in promoting a culture of preparedness and safety.
