Yesterday, the Municipality of Calumpit successfully held the CSO Conference in preparation for the upcoming accreditation of Civil Society Organizations and the selection of representatives to the Local Special Bodies.

The conference served as a platform to strengthen collaboration between the LGU and the CSO sector, emphasizing the vital role of community participation in local governance.

Key topics discussed:

The relevance of participatory governance in policy and program development

The newly issued DILG Memorandum Circular on CSO Accreditation, including updated requirements and procedures

The process for electing CSO representatives to the Local Special Bodies

𝗔𝗧𝗧𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗧𝗢 𝗔𝗟𝗟 𝗖𝗜𝗩𝗜𝗟 𝗦𝗢𝗖𝗜𝗘𝗧𝗬 𝗢𝗥𝗚𝗔𝗡𝗜𝗭𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗦 (𝗖𝗦𝗢𝘀) 🧡
In preparation for the accreditation of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) and the selection of representatives to the Local Special Bodies (LSBs), the Municipality of Calumpit will be conducting a CSO Conference on August 7, 2025, at 1:00 PM at the Municipal Conference Room.

Attendance at this activity is required prior to applying for accreditation with the Sangguniang Bayan. Specifically, the activity aims to discuss the following topics:

a) The relevance of participatory governance;
b) Guidelines on LGU accreditation of CSOs and the reconstitution of LSBs, including a discussion on completing the forms and requirements;
c) Avenues of CSO participation as provided for in RA 7160 and other relevant policies and issuances; and
d) Encouraging the formation of a local CSO network.
