𝐅𝐑𝐈𝐃𝐀𝐘 𝐖𝐀𝐒 𝐅𝐔𝐋𝐋 𝐅𝐎𝐑 𝐓𝐒𝐓𝐈 | 𝐀𝐔𝐆𝐔𝐒𝐓 𝟏𝟒, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 💙

Some Fridays are spent behind a desk. Others are spent showing up, meeting people, listening, and working together to make things happen.

Last August 14 was one of those days for TSTI. Our teams were in different places, having different conversations, but all working toward one shared purpose—strengthening partnerships and creating more opportunities through TVET.

𝐊𝐚𝐫𝐥 𝐇𝐞𝐢𝐧 𝐏𝐢𝐨𝐬, VSA, together with 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐤 𝐀𝐝𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐁𝐚𝐚, VIS, 𝐑𝐮𝐭𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐞 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐚ñ𝐨, UPTRAS; and 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐜 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐳, LSS Focal Person, joined the 𝐅𝐎𝐑𝐓/𝐌𝐈𝐍𝐓𝐕𝐄𝐓 𝐂𝐨𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐌𝐞𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 at Mallberry Suites, contributing to discussions that support the continued development of TVET initiatives and partnerships.

𝐀𝐭 𝐇𝐀𝐍𝐀𝐁𝐀, the TSTI team, led by 𝐌𝐬. 𝐊𝐫𝐢𝐬 𝐁𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐠, worked with partners on the final draft of the MOA, employee enhancement initiatives, and Job Shadowing opportunities—building stronger connections between training and the workplace.

Meanwhile, the TSTI Registrar Team led by 𝐌𝐫. 𝐕𝐚𝐥𝐜𝐲𝐫𝐮𝐬 𝐌𝐚𝐝𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐭𝐚 attended a 𝐜𝐨𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐦𝐞𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐭 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐇𝐚𝐥𝐥, where discussions focused on aligning the City Government’s Community-Based Training initiatives, as well as the corresponding data reporting and documentation. It was another important step in ensuring that plans are properly coordinated, documented, and ready for implementation.

𝐓𝐡𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐦𝐞𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬. 𝐃𝐢𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐦𝐬. 𝐃𝐢𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬.

But one shared direction—to 𝑡𝑢𝑟𝑛 𝑝𝑙𝑎𝑛𝑠 𝑖𝑛𝑡𝑜 𝑎𝑐𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑐𝑟𝑒𝑎𝑡𝑒 𝑚𝑒𝑎𝑛𝑖𝑛𝑔𝑓𝑢𝑙 𝑜𝑝𝑝𝑜𝑟𝑡𝑢𝑛𝑖𝑡𝑖𝑒𝑠 𝑓𝑜𝑟 𝑜𝑢𝑟 𝑙𝑒𝑎𝑟𝑛𝑒𝑟𝑠, 𝑤𝑜𝑟𝑘𝑒𝑟𝑠, 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑐𝑜𝑚𝑚𝑢𝑛𝑖𝑡𝑦.

Because progress doesn't always happen in big moments.

Sometimes, it happens quietly—around a table, through conversations, shared ideas, careful planning, and people who choose to work together.

And that was our Friday.

The City College of Cagayan de Oro – Technical Skills and Technology Institute (CCCDO-TSTI) conducted its Quarter 3 Orientation Seminar at the CCCDO Audio Visual Room, bringing together students and personnel for an informative orientation on the institute’s programs, policies, services, and opportunities.

The morning session began with the preliminaries, followed by the opening remarks of 𝐃𝐫. 𝐇𝐞𝐥𝐦𝐚𝐞 𝐓𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐧, Vice President for Academic Affairs, who welcomed the students and encouraged them to pursue continuous learning.

A highlight of the session was the Introduction of CCCDO-TSTI, including an overview of the institute and the introduction of its teaching and non-teaching staff, led by 𝐌𝐫. 𝐊𝐚𝐫𝐥 𝐇𝐞𝐢𝐧 𝐌. 𝐏𝐢𝐨𝐬, Vocational School Administrator.

The students were also oriented on the three phases of the training and employment process: 𝐏𝐡𝐚𝐬𝐞 𝟏 – 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐋𝐒𝐒, presented by 𝐌𝐫. 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐤 𝐀𝐝𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐒. 𝐁𝐚𝐚, Vocational Instruction Supervisor; 𝐏𝐡𝐚𝐬𝐞 𝟐 – 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭, discussed by 𝐌𝐬. 𝐑𝐮𝐭𝐜𝐡𝐞 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐚ñ𝐨, UTPRAS Assessment Center Manager; and 𝐏𝐡𝐚𝐬𝐞 𝟑 – 𝐒𝐈𝐋 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐄𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐲𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭, presented by 𝐌𝐬. 𝐊𝐫𝐢𝐬 𝐁𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐠, JoLINS Focal. A Registrar Orientation was also conducted by 𝐌𝐫. 𝐕𝐚𝐥𝐜𝐲𝐫𝐮𝐬 𝐌𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐭𝐚, followed by an open forum.

The afternoon session focused on Non-Academic Support Services, including Guidance and Counselling, Library, and Clinic and Health Services, presented by 𝐃𝐫. 𝐅𝐚𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐞, 𝐃𝐫. 𝐌𝐞𝐥 𝐀𝐜𝐢𝐭𝐨 and 𝐌𝐬. 𝐂𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐧 𝐒𝐚𝐛𝐚𝐬𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐬, respectively. The session also covered PPS Rules and Security, facilitated by 𝐌𝐫. 𝐖𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐥𝐥 𝐀𝐛𝐞𝐣𝐨, and the Student Policy, presented by 𝐌𝐬. 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐜 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐳. These discussions emphasized students’ responsibilities, safety, proper conduct, and compliance with institutional policies.

The orientation supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly 𝐒𝐃𝐆 𝟒: 𝐐𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, by promoting inclusive and equitable access to quality education, skills development, and lifelong learning opportunities. It also contributes to 𝐒𝐃𝐆 𝟖: 𝐃𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐄𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐜 𝐆𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐭𝐡 by helping students understand training, assessment, work-based learning, and employment pathways.
