Last July 15, 2026, the Northern Mindanao Medical Center (NMMC) and the City College of CDO's OLLPD successfully concluded a whole-day Training-Workshop on Assessment Development at Hammersons Hotel!

Thirty educators joined a CPD training on "The Art of Questioning" on July 30, 2026, led by Samuel F. Macagba, Ph.D. of Cagayan de Oro City's Education Development Office.

Using Bloom's Taxonomy, Dr. Macagba showed how well-designed questions push learners beyond recall toward critical thinking, analysis, and reflection — turning questioning into a strategy that sparks curiosity and dialogue, not just a way to check answers.

The Office for Lifelong Learning and Professional Development at the City College of Cagayan de Oro, in collaboration with the Professional Education, Training, and Research Unit of NMMC, successfully held a Workplace Emotional Intelligence Training on April 30, 2026. The Northern Mindanao Medical Center hosted an event designed for both medical and non-medical personnel.
A full-day training session convened participants from diverse clinical and administrative departments, highlighting the critical role of self-awareness, self-regulation, empathy, and social skills in the provision of patient-centered care. Participants engaged in interactive discussions, role-playing activities, and reflective exercises to examine the impact of emotional intelligence on their daily interactions with patients, colleagues, and the wider healthcare environment.
The initiative underscores NMMC’s dedication to cultivating healthcare professionals who possess both technical skills and emotional intelligence, thereby promoting a more compassionate and resilient workplace culture.
