In observance of National Disaster Resilience Month (NDRM) 2026 with the theme “Naghahanda at Kumikilos Tungo sa Panatag at Bagong Pilipinas,” the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) of Cabusao, under the leadership of Jose V. Reyes III (LDRRMO II), in coordination with the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Cabusao led by OIC SFO3 Christopher R. Madi, successfully conducted the installation of tarpaulins across the nine barangays of the municipality.

This initiative underscores the commitment of the local government to enhance public awareness and strengthen community preparedness towards disaster resilience. It was conducted with the continued support of the Local Government Unit of Cabusao, headed by Hon. Jose Gil A. Aguilar Jr.

Through collective action and sustained efforts, Cabusao advances towards a safer, more resilient, and disaster-ready community.

𝐃𝐑𝐑 𝐐𝐮𝐢𝐳 𝐁𝐞𝐞 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 | 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐡

In line with the observance of National Disaster Resilience Month, the DRR Quiz Bee was conducted on July 14, 2026, at the Ka Fuerte Sports Complex, Cadlan, Pili, Capitol, Camarines Sur.

Selected students from Barcelonita Fisheries School actively participated and demonstrated commendable knowledge in disaster risk reduction and management. Among 46 competing teams, the school secured 7th place—an achievement attributed to the dedication of the students and the steadfast guidance and support of their coaches.

This activity was made possible through the leadership of Jose V. Reyes III, Head of the MDRRMO Cabusao, and the unwavering support of the Municipal Mayor of Cabusao, Hon. Jose Gil A. Aguilar Jr.

The event underscores the continued commitment to strengthening awareness, preparedness, and resilience among the youth.

The Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) of Cabusao actively participated in the Gawad KALASAG Seal for LDRRM Councils/Offices Orientation and Technical Assistance held on July 7–8, 2026 at the DTC Building, Cadlan, Pili, Camarines Sur.

Representing the office were LDRRMO II Jose V. Reyes III and MDRRMO personnel Jicky J. Carvajal (Research and Planning), reaffirming the municipality’s steadfast commitment to strengthening disaster preparedness, enhancing institutional capacity, and ensuring full compliance with national DRRM standards.

This engagement underscores the Municipality of Cabusao’s continued pursuit of excellence in disaster risk reduction and management and its commitment to achieving the Gawad KALASAG Seal.

In line with strengthening disaster preparedness and promoting a culture of safety, the 2nd Quarter National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill 2026 was successfully conducted at San Pedro Elementary School. The activity was marked by the active and enthusiastic participation of both students and teachers, demonstrating their commitment to learning and practicing proper earthquake response procedures.

Throughout the drill, participants effectively applied safety protocols, highlighting the importance of readiness and coordination in times of emergencies. The exercise not only enhanced awareness but also reinforced the value of discipline and presence of mind during disaster situations.

This initiative was spearheaded by the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) of Cabusao, under the leadership of Jose V. Reyes III (LDRRMO II), in collaboration with key response clusters, including the PNP Cabusao, Bureau of Fire Protection of Cabusao, and the Rural Health Unit of Cabusao, whose support ensured the smooth and successful conduct of the activity.

📢 HINDI LANG BASTA DRILL, KUNDI PAGLILIGTAS NG BUHAY! 🫵

Ito ang dahilan kung bakit regular nating isinasagawa ang Earthquake Drill sa mga paaralan, upang masig**o na ang bawat mag-aaral at g**o ay ligtas sa oras ng totoong lindol sapagkat ang lindol ay hindi inaasahan.

Sa pamamagitan ng tamang kaalaman sa Duck, Cover, and Hold at maayos na evacuation plan, pinapalitan natin ng kahandaan ang takot at panic.

Strengthening preparedness and saving lives—this was the mission behind the successful conduct of the Water Safety and Rescue (WASAR) Training held on June 1–3, 2026.

The three-day activity began at the Cabusao Sports Complex, where participants were immersed in essential theoretical knowledge and demonstrations on ropemanship, rappelling, and Basic Life Support (BLS). This strong foundation set the tone for the intensive hands-on training that followed.

On Days 2 and 3, the training shifted to the challenging environment of Tinandayagan Falls and Resort in Palong, Libmanan, Camarines Sur. Here, participants faced realistic simulation exercises that tested not only their skills but also their teamwork, endurance, and decision-making under pressure. Each scenario reflected real-life emergencies, ensuring that every responder left more capable and confident.

The training brought together selected personnel from PNP Cabusao, Emergency Responders of MDRRMO Cabusao, and visiting responders from MDRRMO Sipocot—fostering collaboration, camaraderie, and shared commitment to public safety.

Guiding the participants throughout the training were the highly competent instructors from BFP Cabusao—FO2 Eldemer G. Nilayan, FO2 Mark Lester R. Morata, FO1 Jonas B. Rillon, FO1 Anjo L. Monasterial, and FO1 Mariz G. Brezuela—whose expertise and dedication ensured a meaningful and impactful learning experience. Their efforts were strongly supported by their head of office, SFO3 Christopher R. Madi, along with Sir Mark Anthony A. Etorne.
