𝘿𝙏𝙄 𝙉𝙪𝙚𝙫𝙖 𝙀𝙘𝙞𝙟𝙖 through its 𝙔𝙤𝙪𝙩𝙝 𝙀𝙣𝙩𝙧𝙚𝙥𝙧𝙚𝙣𝙚𝙪𝙧𝙨𝙝𝙞𝙥 𝙋𝙧𝙤𝙜𝙧𝙖𝙢 (𝙔𝙀𝙋), 𝙢𝙚𝙩 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙈𝙖𝙣𝙪𝙚𝙡 𝙑. 𝙂𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙚𝙜𝙤 𝙁𝙤𝙪𝙣𝙙𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝘾𝙤𝙡𝙡𝙚𝙜𝙚𝙨, 𝙄𝙣𝙘. (𝙈𝙑𝙂𝙁𝘾) on May 13, 2026, for a partnership consultation aimed at strengthening collaboration in entrepreneurship, innovation, academic development, and community engagement.

MVGFC President Dr. Joseph L. Gallego warmly welcomed the initiative and expressed support for partnerships that promote innovation, community empowerment, and sustainable development.

Present during the meeting were Dr. Debbyriza T. Hidalgo and Janikha Ann F. Linsangan from DTI–Nueva Ecija; Prof. Rene Boy E. Abiva, Ma. Victoria R. Victa, Frederick J. Manalastas, Dr. Al John P. Marcelino, and Dr. Rachael R. Moralde from MVGFC.

The consultation reflects the shared commitment of DTI–Nueva Ecija and MVGFC in promoting youth empowerment, inclusive development, and sustainable community-based programs.

On May 11–12, 2026, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) participated in the planning activities for the proposed establishment of Bamboo Skewers and Bamboo Planters Processing Facilities in Pantabangan, Nueva Ecija. The activity was facilitated by First Gen Hydro Power Corporation in partnership with the Department of Science and Technology – Forest Products Research and Development Institute (DOST-FPRDI) and Hinoki, with the participation of the Villanueva Farmers Association in Brgy. Malbang and other partner associations in the municipality.

The proposed projects aim to promote sustainable bamboo utilization, inclusive enterprise development, and innovation-driven manufacturing through the establishment of community-based bamboo processing facilities. The initiative is expected to generate livelihood opportunities, strengthen local bamboo-based enterprises, and support value-adding activities for participating associations and communities.

On May 8, 2026, DTI R3 Team headed by Regional Director Edna Dizon , visited and assessed the production area of Kawayan Holdings in Brgy. Kalikid Norte, Cabanatuan City. A meeting for a collaboration involving Kawayan Holdings , the DTI Nueva Ecija, the Regional Bamboo Development Council. Local Government Unit of General Tinio and Papaya Sinag Tala Agriculture Cooperative (PASITA) was conducted. Officers of Kawayan Holdings present were President Crizaldo Nieves (Retired General), Dr. Anneth S. Rigon, Dr. Rachael Moralde and their staff. Its business operation and its intended backward linkage in bamboo producing communities were presented during the meeting.

Dreams within reach, hope for our farmers.

We braved the steep and rugged terrain of Sitio Maluyon, Barangay West Poblacion, Pantabangan to bring our services directly to the farmers of this community. The determination of the farmers here is truly inspiring; they carry a deep dream to uplift their quality of life and a hope for their products to gain the recognition they deserve.

Their coffee is exceptional—rich in flavor and perfectly brewed.

DTI and NC Pantabangan will continue to guide these emerging MSMEs through Product Development and Capacity-building to ensure their long-term sustainability.

In the afternoon of May 6, 2026, the DTI team conducted a courtesy meeting with Sherry Ann D. Bolisay of Local Government Unit of General Tinio to discuss potential development initiatives for the municipality. Discussions focused on strengthening the locality’s One Town, One Product (OTOP) offerings, particularly pindang and special kalamay, as well as exploring opportunities for the development of the bamboo sanctuary and tourism industry.

The activity was followed by a meeting with the officers of Papaya SinagTALA Agriculture Cooperative (PASITA) and Bamboo Impact Lab to discuss possible collaboration for the bamboo project. Key topics included bamboo management technologies, plantation establishment and harvesting plans, treatment processes, and marketing considerations for bamboo poles and slats. Plans for a capability training scheduled next week and the drone mapping activity for the cooperative’s 50-hectare bamboo plantation were also finalized during the meeting.

On May 6, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) conducted the Awarding of Transfer of Ownership for the Shared Service Facilities (SSF) on Footwear Production worth Php 2,650,800.00 and SSF on Gift, Décor and Houseware (GDH) Production to JVF Center for Technical Studies and Assessment, Inc..

The transfer was awarded in recognition of the institution’s satisfactory compliance with the SSF Program requirements, particularly in terms of jobs generated, sales accomplishments, and number of SMEs assisted. The activity highlighted the positive impact of the SSF Program in enhancing productivity, supporting MSMEs, and promoting local economic development through shared access to production facilities and technologies.

7 May 2026| DTI Nueva Ecija, through the Negosyo Center District 3 and in partnership with WalterMart Cabanatuan, officially opened the Mother’s Day Trade Fair with the theme “Love for Mompreneurs, Support Local.”

The opening was led by Hon. Vice Mayor Joselito Roque together with Mr. Arren Paco Faronilo of CLCDO LGU Cabanatuan, DC Maria Odessa Manzano, and Mr. Maxwell Bonilla of WalterMart Cabanatuan.

Mr. Marvin Dugay of Land Bank of the Philippines South Nueva Ecija Lending Center also shared their programs and services for MSMEs.

The trade fair, simultaneously conducted in all WalterMart branches in Nueva Ecija, runs until May 11 and features home-grown MSMEs showcasing local delicacies, fashion accessories, and innovative products.

This initiative supports MSMEs, promotes OTOP, and encourages the public to buy and support local.

DTI Nueva Ecija through the team efforts of District 2 BCs, opens Mother's Day Trade "Love for MomPreneurs" at WalterMart, San Jose City.

The event was graced by the presence of: Hon Mayor Josel "James Violago, Hon Vanessa May Rivera Committee Chairperson-Trade and Industry, Christopher Estabillo WalterMart SJC Marketting Supervisor, STIDS Dennis Suyayen, TIDS Darwin Manumbali of DTI Nueva Ecija.

The fair will run until May 10, featuring home-grown MSMEs developed by Negosyo Centers of Nueva Ecija, from local delicacies to elegant fashion accessories, and unique homegrown innovations.

This is part of DTI’s continues effort to support MSMEs, promote One Town, One Product (OTOP) Philippines, and encourage the public to buy local and support local.

07 May 2026 | The Department of Trade and Industry – Nueva Ecija, through the District IV Negosyo Centers, successfully conducted the Mother’s Day Trade Fair with the theme “Love for Mompreneurs, Support Local” at WalterMart Gapan.

The activity highlighted locally made products and empowered mompreneurs and MSMEs by providing them with a platform to showcase and promote their businesses to the public.

Gracing the opening activity was Vice Mayor Max Pascual, whose presence demonstrated strong support for local entrepreneurs and community-based enterprises.
