Professionals in Butuan City will have the opportunity to earn Continuing Professional Development (CPD) units by participating in the upcoming Arbor Day celebration on June 25, 2026.

Open to all professionals from the City Government of Butuan, Regional Line Agencies, private institutions, and other interested sectors, the activity offers a meaningful way to fulfill professional development requirements while contributing to environmental conservation. To ensure the successful implementation of the event, the City Environment and Natural Resources Department (CENRD), together with the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC), the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), and Caraga State University, recently held a coordination meeting to finalize preparations for the large-scale tree-growing activity in Barangay Baan Km. 3 under the theme “Plant a Tree, Sow Our Future.”

During the recent meeting, partners discussed the event program, site preparation, seedling sourcing, and participant mobilization.

More than a one-day tree-growing activity, the initiative is designed to promote long-term environmental stewardship. The activity aims to strengthen community participation, expand tree cover, and cultivate a greener, more sustainable future for Butuan City and the entire Caraga Region.

Interested participants may contact Mr. Johnny Verzano of CENRD at Cellphone No. 0981-233-1355 for registration details and other inquiries.

The City Government continues its efforts to improve public safety through the repair of damaged manhole covers along the FSUU Morelos area. This maintenance work addresses potential hazards for motorists, pedestrians, students, and commuters who pass through one of the city's busiest roads daily, ensuring a safer and smoother travel experience for everyone.

Beyond preventing accidents and vehicle damage, the repair of these critical road infrastructure components helps maintain the reliability of the city's drainage and utility systems. Small improvements like these contribute to safer communities, better mobility, and a more responsive public service that prioritizes the welfare and convenience of every Butuanon. Big thanks to our Flood Control and Drainage Facilities Unit of the City Engineering Department.
