In celebration of ๐–๐จ๐ซ๐ฅ๐ ๐„๐ง๐ฏ๐ข๐ซ๐จ๐ง๐ฆ๐ž๐ง๐ญ ๐ƒ๐š๐ฒ ๐Ÿ๐ŸŽ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ”, the Local Government Unit of Burauen through the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office invites all Burawanons to take part in the ๐‘ท๐’๐’๐’ˆ ๐‘น๐’–๐’ ๐‘ช๐’‰๐’‚๐’๐’๐’†๐’๐’ˆ๐’† on June 5, 2026, at the Burauen Municipal Grounds.

Join us in promoting environmental stewardship while staying active and healthy! Participants will run along the designated route starting from the Tunnel Road to Barangay Arado, Burauen, Leyte, collecting plastic waste along the way and helping keep our community clean and green.

๐Ÿ“Œ TEAM COMPOSITION
โœ… Limited to 10 teams only
โœ… Each team must consist of 4 members
โœ… Designate one Team Captain for coordination
โœ… Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis
โœ… Registration period: May 28 โ€“ June 4, 2026

๐Ÿ“Œ RACE MECHANICS
โ™ป๏ธ Teams must start and finish together.
โ™ป๏ธ Plastic waste only (PET bottles, sachets, plastic bags, wrappers, etc.) may be collected.
โ™ป๏ธ Waste collection is allowed only along the designated route.
โ™ป๏ธ Participants must bring their own trash bags or sacks.
โ™ป๏ธ All collected waste will be weighed at the finish line.

๐Ÿ† WINNING TEAM
The champion will be determined based on:
๐Ÿฅ‡ Being the first team to complete the route with all members present; and
๐Ÿฅ‡ Having the highest total weight of collected plastic waste collected during the race.

โ€ข Bring reusable water containers to reduce single-use plastic waste.
โ€ข Observe proper safety precautions throughout the activity.

The Local Government Unit of Burauen, through the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO) in coordination with the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO), successfully conducted the ๐Ÿฎ๐—ป๐—ฑ ๐—ค๐˜‚๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐˜๐—ฒ๐—ฟ ๐—ฅ๐—ถ๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ ๐—–๐—น๐—ฒ๐—ฎ๐—ป-๐—จ๐—ฝ ๐——๐—ฟ๐—ถ๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ under the ๐—”๐—ฑ๐—ผ๐—ฝ๐˜-๐—ฎ-๐—ช๐—ฎ๐˜๐—ฒ๐—ฟ ๐—•๐—ผ๐—ฑ๐˜† ๐—ฃ๐—ฟ๐—ผ๐—ด๐—ฟ๐—ฎ๐—บ along the stretch of the Daguitan River from Poblacion District 3 to Poblacion District 6.

This meaningful activity was made possible through the active participation and cooperation of RPWUDS, probationers, and parolees who rendered community service as part of their rehabilitation and reintegration efforts.

Today marks a momentous and historic milestone as the groundbreaking ceremony for the Mahagnao Volcano Natural Park Protected Area Management Office (PAMO) Building was successfully held in Barangay Mahagnao, Burauen, Leyte.

The Local Government Unit of Burauen, led by Hon. Fe S. Renomeron, extends its warmest congratulations to the Mahagnao Volcano Natural Park PAMO for this significant achievement in strengthening environmental protection and biodiversity conservation in the municipality.

The meaningful event was graced by officials from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), headed by Regional Executive Director Arturo N. Salazar, PENRO Ildefonso Quilloy, and CENRO Edgardo Alegre. Representing the LGUs of Burauen and La Paz were Hon. Juanito E. Renomeron, SB Committee Chair on Finance and Appropriations, and Municipal Mayor Joel Cinco, respectively.

Also present were Hon. Bienvenido Suplente, Barangay Chairman of Mahagnao; members of the Protected Area Management Board (PAMB); representatives from the Philippine Eagle Foundation; partner agencies; and other environmental stakeholders.

In his message, Hon. Juanito E. Renomeron reaffirmed the unwavering support of the LGU of Burauen to the DENR, especially to the Mahagnao Volcano Natural Park PAMO. He also emphasized the importance of collaboration among agencies, organizations, and communities in protecting and preserving Burauenโ€™s rich natural resources and ecological heritage.

Hon. Renomeron likewise recognized the exemplary leadership of Protected Area Superintendent Wincel Nuรฑez and the hardworking PAMO personnel for their dedication and tireless efforts in safeguarding the protected area.

The construction of the PAMO Building symbolizes progress in environmental governance and the shared commitment toward sustainable development, biodiversity conservation, and ecotourism promotion for future generations.

The Local Government Unit of Burauen through the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office reminds all residential, commercial, and industrial establishments to strictly comply with Municipal Ordinance No. 19-17 or the โ€œBurauen Plastic and Polystyrene Regulation Ordinance of 2019.โ€

In support of environmental protection and proper solid waste management, the use of plastic bags and polystyrene materials as secondary packaging on dry and wet goods is prohibited every ๐—ง๐˜‚๐—ฒ๐˜€๐—ฑ๐—ฎ๐˜† ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฑ ๐—ง๐—ต๐˜‚๐—ฟ๐˜€๐—ฑ๐—ฎ๐˜†.

๐ŸŒฟ The 2nd Quarter Mahagnao Volcano Natural Park Protected Area Management Board (PAMB) Meeting was successfully held today, May 7, 2026, at the Camp Kawayan Resort New Function Hall, Brgy. Balorinay, Burauen, Leyte.

The quarterly meeting gathered key stakeholders, partner agencies, and PAMB members to discuss updates, plans, and collaborative efforts for the protection, conservation, and sustainable management of the protected area.

This quarterโ€™s meeting was proudly hosted by the Local Government Unit of Burauen under the leadership of Hon. Fe S. Renomeron, reaffirming the municipalityโ€™s commitment to environmental stewardship and biodiversity conservation.

Present during the activity were representatives from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources, Philippine National Police, Local Government Units of Burauen and La Paz, Philippine Eagle Foundation, and other partner institutions who continue to support the preservation of one of Eastern Visayasโ€™ treasured protected areas.
