🦆 WAIT… HAVE YOU EVER SEEN A WHITE PHILIPPINE DUCK? 👀🤍

A rare and remarkable first has been recorded at Mahagnao Volcano Natural Park! ⛰️🌿

For the first time ever, the MVNP Biodiversity Monitoring Team documented a leucistic Philippine Duck (Anas luzonica) at Lake Malagsum during a routine patrol.
✨ Leucistic means unusually pale or white feathers caused by reduced pigmentation—not albinism.

This extraordinary sighting adds a new record to MVNP’s biodiversity and is a powerful reminder that protected areas provide safe havens for rare and threatened wildlife. 🦆💚
The Philippine Duck is classified as Vulnerable, making every individual worth protecting.

🌿 Rare sightings remind us why conservation matters. Protect habitats. Protect wildlife. Protect our natural heritage.

Experience the rugged beauty of the Guin-Aniban Trail—a challenging trek featuring steep and demanding trails, river crossings, and an unforgettable adventure through the natural landscapes of Mahagnao.

Starting at ₱500 per person
👥 Maximum of 5 trekkers per group
Small groups are encouraged for safety, easier travel, and better trail management.

Before heading to the trail, all trekkers must proceed to the MVNPEA Bunkhouse for:
• Registration
• Safety orientation
• Trail briefing
• Proper coordination before departure

“Unguided and unregistered trail trekking inside and within Mahagnao Volcano Natural Park attractions is strictly prohibited.”

🚫 No Unguided or Unregistered Trekking at Mahagnao Volcano Natural Park

The Mahagnao Volcano Natural Park Ecotourism Association-MVNPEA reminds all visitors that unguided and unregistered trail trekking is not allowed within the park. This rule applies to the Volcano Trail, Calor Hotspring Trail, Tanguile Trail, and Guin-aniban Falls Trail.

For the safety of trekkers and proper protection of the park’s natural resources, all interested visitors are encouraged to inquire first with the DENR, Burauen Tourism Office or the MVNPEA page.

Walk-in visitors are also welcome but must first register and undergo proper recording and safety orientation at the MVNPEA Bunkhouse, located inside Mahagnao Volcano Natural Park.
