Ready to Run? Or at least, ready to run when the weather allows?

The Panmaptengan BSU Foundation Run is all set—with medals waiting for the winners in the different categories, plus special awards and finisher medals for the 21K and 42K runners. 🏅

And you won’t be running on an empty tank. The BSUGEA is sponsoring the runner tokens and provisions, while our volunteer employees and students—especially from the College of Human Kinetics and College of Nursing—will be on hand for marshalling and runner support.

Our partners in public safety are also ready to lend a hand. The PNP, BFP, and LGU Benguet are all prepared to provide support to help keep our runners safe and the race properly managed. So, yes, we have the runners, the marshals, the medals, the provisions—and even the cavalry!

But then as we all know, in the past weeks, Mother Nature has entered the race.

The run, originally scheduled for tomorrow, will have to be rescheduled to another date due to the weather conditions in recent days and the outlook provided by our weather authorities.

And as it has always been said, safety comes first. We don’t want our runners showing up at the starting line without having had the chance to do their proper warm-ups—or worse, having to warm up by chasing the rain!

So, not cancelled—just postponed.

Keep those running shoes ready. Keep the commitment strong. And when the new race day comes, we hope you’ll still be there, ready to run, ready to compete, and ready to have fun.

The race may have been delayed, but the finish line is still waiting.

Alternative Learninf Arrangement for September 4, 2026

ALTERNATIVE LEARNING MODES FOR SCHOOLS ON SEPTEMBER 4

Pursuant to Memorandum Circular No. 134, alternative learning modes and learning continuity measures shall be implemented at all levels in public and private educational institutions in the National Capital Region and the following provinces on September 4, 2026, unless their respective Local Chief Executives direct the cancellation or suspension of classes:

The measure is in view of the anticipated continued heavy rainfall associated with the enhanced Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) and poor air quality in the NCR caused by haze from severe forest and peatland fires in Kalimantan and Sumatra, Indonesia.

Localized cancellation or suspension of classes in other areas may be implemented by their respective Local Chief Executives.

In view of the weather advisories issued by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), and upon the recommendation of the University Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Committee (UDRRMC), the BSU Panmaptengan: The Foundation Fun Run is hereby postponed to September 19, 2026.

This decision is made as a precautionary measure, with the safety, health, and well-being of all runners, organizers, volunteers, University personnel, and other stakeholders as the paramount consideration.

All registered runners are advised to confirm their continued commitment to participate in the rescheduled event by coordinating with the BSU Government Employees Association (BSUGEA), the sponsor and main organizer of the activity.

All concerned are likewise advised to remain attentive to official announcements and advisories from the University and the BSUGEA. Further adjustments to the schedule, race arrangements, registration, route, and other event-related matters may be made as circumstances warrant. Any such adjustments shall be communicated through the appropriate official channels.

The University sincerely appreciates the understanding, patience, and cooperation of all participants and stakeholders as we prioritize safety while working toward the successful conduct of the BSU Panmaptengan: The Foundation Fun Run.

Dr. Ruel G. Revilla is a prominent pulmonologist, educator, and healthcare leader whose dedication to medicine has advanced healthcare in Baguio City and the Cordillera Region. As President and Chief Operating Officer of the Global Multi-Specialty Diagnostic Center and Founding Dean of the Benguet State University College of Medicine, he has championed quality healthcare, medical education, and compassionate public service. He also played a vital role in Baguio City's telemedicine and COVID-19 response initiatives while mentoring future generations of physicians. In view of the continued heavy rainfall brought about by Tropical Storm Maymay and the Southwest Monsoon, and upon the recommendation of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC), work in government offices and classes at all levels in the National Capital Region and the provinces of Ilocos Sur, La Union, Benguet, Pangasinan, Abra, Zambales, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Ifugao, Ilocos Norte, Apayao, Nueva Vizcaya, Tarlac, Nueva Ecija, Bataan, Pampanga, Bulacan, Rizal, Cavite, Batangas, Laguna, and Occidental Mindoro are hereby suspended on 06 August 2026.

Agencies delivering essential and emergency services shall continue their operations. The suspension of work in private companies and offices is left to the discretion of their respective heads.
