OFFICIAL STATEMENT
Municipality of Don Salvador Benedicto

The Municipal Government of Don Salvador Benedicto wishes to address recent reports circulating regarding the alleged sighting of a King Cobra in one of the resorts within our municipality.

First and foremost, we acknowledge the concern this information may have caused among residents and visitors. As of this time, the Municipal Government, in coordination with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), concerned barangay and resort management, is verifying the accuracy of these reports and ensuring that appropriate measures are in place to guarantee public safety.

We would like to emphasize that Don Salvador Benedicto is part of the Northern Negros Natural Park (NNNP), a protected area known for its rich biodiversity and thriving ecosystems. As such, the presence of wildlife—including various species of reptiles—is a natural occurrence within our environment. This highlights the ecological balance between flora and fauna that defines our municipality.

Our greatest asset has always been our natural beauty—lush forests, cool climate, and a harmonious coexistence with nature. This balance is what makes Don Salvador Benedicto a unique and sustainable destination for eco-tourism.

However, it also comes with the shared responsibility of respecting wildlife and maintaining vigilance when in natural areas.

The Municipal Government advises the public and all resort operators to:

📍Exercise caution and awareness when exploring outdoor areas;

📍Immediately report any wildlife sightings to local authorities;

📍Avoid disturbing or attempting to capture wild animals;

📍Coordinate with the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO) for proper guidance and response.

Rest assured that the safety of our residents and guests remains our top priority. We are closely monitoring the situation and will provide updates as necessary.

We encourage everyone to remain calm, informed, and respectful of the natural environment that we are privileged to enjoy and protect.

Together, let us continue to preserve the balance of nature in Don Salvador Benedicto—where development and the environment thrive hand in hand.

SALVADORIANS: SUMMER HEAT CHECK

There’s no trophy for “Overworked Person of the Year,” and this summer heat isn’t helping either.
Rest a little. Recharge a lot. Take time for yourself and your loved ones, because work can wait. Not everything needs to be rushed. Okay?

Friendly reminder before you turn into an “out of office” message… and then eventually, just a memory. 😆

Blessed Sunday, to our dear Salvadorians.

Jeremiah 29:11 reminds us that even in the uncertainty, God has already written hope into our future.

“When everything feels unclear, trust the One who already sees your tomorrow. His plans are not to harm you, but to give you hope, purpose, and a future filled with grace.”

Hold on to faith. What’s ahead is already held by His promise.

Maligayang Araw ng Paggawa, Salvadorians!

Today’s Flag Raising Ceremony, Homecoming Celebration, and Tree Planting Activity was a meaningful gathering that reflected the unity, pride, and dedication of the Municipality of Don Salvador Benedicto.

Led by Municipal Mayor Hon. Nehemiah Joe J. Dela Cruz, together with Municipal Vice Mayor Hon. Jugin Jewel Bandolon, the Sangguniang Bayan Members, Department Heads, and Municipal Employees, the municipality came together to celebrate public service, honor excellence, and promote environmental stewardship.

The event became even more memorable as the municipality proudly welcomed home Jamaicah Bantigue, whose historic achievement as the first-ever Lin-ay sang Negros crown holder brought immense pride and honor to Don Salvador Benedicto.

As the community celebrated this milestone and joined hands in the tree planting activity, the gathering symbolized the municipality’s continued commitment to progress, unity, and a greener future for all.

Indeed, today was a celebration of leadership, pride, and solidarity, showcasing the spirit of Don Salvador Benedicto as one community moving forward together.
