CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro — Two suspected High-Value Individuals (HVIs) were arrested and suspected shabu valued at approximately ₱374,000.00 was confiscated during a joint anti-illegal drug operation conducted by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and the Philippine National Police (PNP) in Barangay Sta. Isabel, Calapan City on June 2, 2026.

The operation was led by the PDEA Oriental Mindoro Provincial Office, with support from the Calapan City Police Station (CPS) and PNP Drug Enforcement Group SOU4B.

Arrested during the operation were a 32-year-old conductor and a 41-year-old van driver, both residents of Bansud, Oriental Mindoro, and identified by authorities as suspected High-Value Individuals.

Authorities reported that a PDEA operative acting as poseur-buyer successfully purchased one heat-sealed plastic sachet containing white crystalline substance suspected to be methamphetamine hydrochloride or “shabu,” weighing approximately five grams, in exchange for ₱6,000.00.

Further recovery operations yielded two additional sachets containing suspected shabu weighing approximately 55 grams, bringing the total estimated Standard Drug Price of the confiscated illegal drugs to ₱374,000.00.

The arrested individuals and confiscated drug evidence were subsequently brought to the PDEA Regional Office in Calapan City for documentation, laboratory examination, and appropriate legal proceedings.

PRO MIMAROPA Acting Regional Director PBGEN Christopher R. Dela Cruz lauded the operating units and underscored the importance of sustained inter-agency collaboration in anti-illegal drug operations.

“This accomplishment reflects the strong partnership between the PDEA and PNP in intensifying our campaign against illegal drugs. Through close coordination, intelligence-driven operations, and lawful enforcement efforts, we remain focused on preventing the proliferation of illegal drugs and protecting our communities from its harmful effects,” PBGEN Dela Cruz said.

“PRO MIMAROPA will continue supporting coordinated anti-drug efforts across the region through strengthened operational collaboration and sustained enforcement initiatives,” he added.

PNP ISKOLAR, MATAGUMPAY NA NAGTAPOS SA DARAGA, ALBAY

Naghatid ng inspirasyon ang programang Project F.I.V.E. (Fight Insurgency Via Education) ng Regional Mobile Force Battalion 5 (RMFB 5) matapos opisyal na makapagtapos sa kolehiyo ang isa nitong iskolar noong Mayo 29, 2026 sa Daraga Community College.

Ang naturang iskolar ay nagtapos ng kursong Bachelor of Elementary Education (BEEd), sa kabila ng mga hamon sa buhay at pinansyal na dinanas habang nag-aaral. Sa pamamagitan ng tiyaga, disiplina, at determinasyon, nakamit niya ang pangarap na makapagtapos ng kolehiyo.

Ayon sa RMFB 5, ang tagumpay ng iskolar ay malinaw na patunay na ang edukasyon ay epektibong sandata laban sa kahirapan at iba’t ibang banta sa kapayapaan, kabilang ang insurhensiya. Layunin ng Project F.I.V.E. na bigyan ng libreng edukasyon at suporta ang mga kabataan mula sa mga komunidad na nangangailangan upang sila ay mahubog bilang produktibong mamamayan.

Pahayag ni PNP Chief PGen Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., “Ang bawat batang natutulungan nating makapagtapos ay isang hakbang palayo sa karahasan at isang hakbang patungo sa mas maayos na kinabukasan. Ito ang tunay na diwa ng serbisyo ng PNP—ang magbigay ng pag-asa.”

Dagdag pa niya, “Hindi lamang ito simpleng programa; ito ay pamumuhunan sa kinabukasan ng ating bayan. Sa bawat iskolar na nagtatagumpay, mas pinatitibay natin ang kapayapaan sa komunidad.”

Ang RMFB 5 ay patuloy na isinusulong ang Project F.I.V.E. bilang bahagi ng mas malawak na adbokasiya para sa kapayapaan at kaunlaran, na nagbibigay ng alternatibong landas sa kabataan tungo sa edukasyon at mas produktibong buhay.

Ang tagumpay na ito ay patunay ng tuloy-tuloy na malasakit at serbisyo ng kapulisan sa komunidad sa ilalim ng Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat at Nararamdaman.

Kabilang sa mga ibinigay na kagamitang pandigma ang 167 hand grenades, isang (1) M14 rifle, dalawang (2) Garand rifles, isang (1) carbine rifle, mga magasin, at iba't ibang uri ng bala.
Ayon sa mga nagbalik-loob, nais nilang mamuhay nang matiwasay at malayo sa karahasan. Ipinahayag din nila ang interes na sumali sa recruitment ng Citizen Armed Force Geographical Unit (CAFGU) Active Auxiliary (CAA) upang maging produktibong mamamayan na katuwang sa pagpapanatili ng seguridad at pagkakaisa sa kanilang lugar.
Lubos namang nagpasalamat si BGEN BARA PA sa desisyon ng mga residente na sumunod sa batas at suportahan ang kapayapaan. Hinikayat niya ang mga ito na magpatuloy sa pagiging katuwang ng pamahalaan para sa tuluy-tuloy na pag-unlad ng buong Lanao del Sur.
