CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro โ Two suspected High-Value Individuals (HVIs) were arrested and suspected shabu valued at approximately โฑ374,000.00 was confiscated during a joint anti-illegal drug operation conducted by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and the Philippine National Police (PNP) in Barangay Sta. Isabel, Calapan City on June 2, 2026.
The operation was led by the PDEA Oriental Mindoro Provincial Office, with support from the Calapan City Police Station (CPS) and PNP Drug Enforcement Group SOU4B.
Arrested during the operation were a 32-year-old conductor and a 41-year-old van driver, both residents of Bansud, Oriental Mindoro, and identified by authorities as suspected High-Value Individuals.
Authorities reported that a PDEA operative acting as poseur-buyer successfully purchased one heat-sealed plastic sachet containing white crystalline substance suspected to be methamphetamine hydrochloride or โshabu,โ weighing approximately five grams, in exchange for โฑ6,000.00.
Further recovery operations yielded two additional sachets containing suspected shabu weighing approximately 55 grams, bringing the total estimated Standard Drug Price of the confiscated illegal drugs to โฑ374,000.00.
The arrested individuals and confiscated drug evidence were subsequently brought to the PDEA Regional Office in Calapan City for documentation, laboratory examination, and appropriate legal proceedings.
PRO MIMAROPA Acting Regional Director PBGEN Christopher R. Dela Cruz lauded the operating units and underscored the importance of sustained inter-agency collaboration in anti-illegal drug operations.
โThis accomplishment reflects the strong partnership between the PDEA and PNP in intensifying our campaign against illegal drugs. Through close coordination, intelligence-driven operations, and lawful enforcement efforts, we remain focused on preventing the proliferation of illegal drugs and protecting our communities from its harmful effects,โ PBGEN Dela Cruz said.
