In a one-day activity, the City Government of Batac through the Office of the City Agriculturist extended support to our farmers with the distribution of plastic mulch and seedling trays to vegetable growers, and well-milled rice to to***co farmers.

There were 113 recipients of plastic mulch and seedling tray and 675 beneficiaries of well milled rice. The activity led by Mayor Mark Christian "Markee" R. Chua, expressed his continues support to farmers by providing appropriate interventions.

Courtesy Visit to Mayor and Site Validation of DOST and DOST-PAGASA for the Proposed Automated Weather Station (AWS) under the Project SARAI in the City of Batac.

The group welcomed by Mayor Mark Christian "Markee" R. Chua and expressed her appreciation for choosing City of Batac as the recipient of the Project SARAI of DOST.

Project SARAI (Smarter Approaches to Reinvigorate Agriculture as an Industry in the Philippines) is a DOST-funded initiative led by UP Los Baños (UPLB) to empower farmers with science and technology for smart, climate-resilient agriculture, using tools like AI-powered apps (SPIDTECH for pests, CL-SEAMS for monitoring), weather forecasting, and data to improve yields and sustainability. It involves creating Regional Hubs (SARAI CeNTRO) to localize technology and build capacity for better farming decisions.
