Last February 26, 2026, the Balanga City Civil Registry Office successfully hosted the Poster Making and Essay Writing Contests at the City Hall Main Audio Visual Room.

Guided by the theme โ€œNavigating the Future Together: Advancing CRVS in Shaping the Global and Regional Data Ecosystem,โ€ Grade 11 and 12 students from across the city showcased their brilliance and creativity in highlighting the vital role of Civil Registration and Vital Statistics (CRVS).

BALANGA CITY โ€” The Balanga City Civil Registry Office joined the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Bataan in launching the 36th Civil Registration Month (CRM) with a motorcade and environmental activity on 03 February 2026.

Anchored on the theme โ€œNavigating the Future Together: Advancing CRVS in Shaping the Global and Regional Data Ecosystem,โ€ the kickoff event featured a motorcade that spanned from the Bataan Government Center in Pilar to the Balanga City Wetland Park in Brgy. Tortugas.

To symbolize growth and sustainability alongside data advancement, the delegation conducted a tree-planting activity at the Wetland Park immediately following the motorcade.

The Balanga City Civil Registry Office remains committed to enhancing the efficiency, accuracy, and accessibility of civil registration services in line with national standards and the demands of modern technology. As transactions continue to increase and citizens expect faster and more reliable public service, system modernization and digitized processes are more vital than everโ€”especially to ensure the permanent preservation of civil registry documents dating from 1942 to the present.

In line with this initiative, the Balanga CCRO conducted a benchmarking activity at the Municipal Civil Registry Office of Guiguinto, Bulacan on 19 December 2025. The visit aimed to learn best practices that may be adopted in our locality, particularly in records digitization, long-term document preservation, and the potential implementation of the Administrative Petition for Correction Automated System (APCAS).

The Balanga City Civil Registry Office (CCRO) remains steadfast in its commitment to support teachers and school officials within the City by enhancing their understanding of the various annotations found in the Certificate of Live Birth. These include Acknowledgment, Affidavit of Use of Surname of the Father (AUSF, R.A. 9255), Legitimation, corrections under R.A. 9048 and R.A. 10172, Supplemental Reports, and other laws related to civil registration. Strengthening knowledge in these areas is essential in ensuring responsive public service and in upholding the delivery of quality education for all Balangueรฑos.

In line with this commitment, a Seminar/Training for Teachers and School Officials on Acknowledgment, R.A. 9255, Legitimation, R.A. 9048 and R.A. 10172, Supplemental Reports, and Civil Registry Laws was held on 26 November 2025, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM, via Zoom Meeting. The activity was participated in by representatives from Balanga Elementary School, Bo. Central Elementary School, Cataning Integrated School, Cupang Integrated School, and Tenejero Integrated School.

The discussion of various topics was facilitated by Registration Officer III Analyn C. Dizon and Registration Officer II Adrian F. Pangan, while participantsโ€™ inquiries were knowledgeably addressed by City Civil Registrar Marilyn C. Cruz.

๐Ÿ“Œ Refresher Course on Pre-Marriage Orientation and Counseling (PMOC) Seminar Held

A Refresher Course on the Pre-Marriage Orientation and Counseling (PMOC) Seminar was successfully conducted on October 16, 2025, at the 4th Floor Conference Room, The Bunker Building, Balanga City, Bataan. This was attended by City Civil Registrar Marilyn C. Cruz and Registration Officer II Adrian F. Pangan, as LGU Balanga City represents.

Such seminar is a vital requirement for all contracting parties or would-be couples applying for a marriage license. Attendance and active participation in a PMOC session is mandatory before a marriage license can be issued by the Local Government Unit (LGU), in accordance with:

The session was facilitated by the Commission on Population and Development Region III, which was participated by LGU-qualified and accredited PMOC members, ensuring that couples are well-informed and guided as they take the important step toward marriage.

Afternoon session was allocated for a practice demo on conducting the PMOC sessions, applying what the particpants have learned during the training.

The PMOC seminar plays a crucial role in promoting strong, informed, and responsible family foundations.
