𝐇𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐋𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐓𝐒: Women’s Month 2026 Activities Concluded at CTU Barili Campus

The Women’s Month 2026 activities at Cebu Technological University – Barili Campus have been successfully conducted.

The event was organized by the Gender and Development Office, in coordination with the Campus Clinic and the Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office.

The morning session included the Seminar and Program Proper, attended by students, faculty, staff, and job order personnel. Topics discussed covered gender and development, health awareness, and disaster preparedness.

The program opened with welcome remarks by Dr. Romeo C. Lepiten, followed by the Statement of Purpose by Mrs. Charity Donozo. The GAD objectives and activity integration were presented by Ms. Quenny Marie B. Abad.

The afternoon session featured Simulation Exercises on Fire and Earthquake Drills conducted in the Smartroom, CAFBC, HM Building, and Admin Building. Each location included assigned simulation patients for rescue. The CTU-Barili DRRM Aid and Care Team carried out the response procedures.

A fire safety orientation was also conducted, where participants wore firefighter protective gear and observed demonstrations of firefighting tools and equipment, facilitated by Adrean E. Dayucos.

Skills Competitions and Drills were conducted involving the Reserve Officers' Training Corps, the DRRM Aid and Care Team, and volunteered students. Activities included Hose Relay, Fire Extinguisher Relay, Types of Carry Relay, and Bucket Relay.

The activities formed part of the campus completing the planned Women’s Month 2026 program.

𝗣𝗼𝘀𝘁-𝗤𝘂𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗦𝗮𝗳𝗲𝘁𝘆 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗮𝘁 𝗖𝗧𝗨 𝗕𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗹𝗶

Following the 5.4 magnitude earthquake that struck Bogo City, Cebu Technological University–Barili Campus conducted a thorough inspection to ensure the structural safety of its facilities.

At around 4:00 PM, an on-site inspection was carried out by the Municipal Engineering Office of the Municipality of Barili, in coordination with Engr. Dwight Earl H. Basanung, CTU Barili Maintenance Chairperson, and Hon. Peter John C. Enorio, SSG President. The team carefully assessed classrooms, offices, hallways, and other essential campus areas to check for any signs of damage or structural risk.

After the inspection, the Municipal Engineering Office submitted its report to the Campus Director’s Office.

Based on the evaluation, all buildings used for classes were found to be safe and suitable for use. No major damages that would compromise the safety of students, faculty, and staff were identified.

With this, classes will resume on April 8, 2026, Wednesday. Everyone is encouraged to remain vigilant and continue observing safety precautions as normal campus operations proceed.

These efforts reflect the university’s continued commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of the entire campus community.

𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗖𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀 𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗽𝘂𝘀 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗔𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗖𝗧𝗨 𝗕𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗹𝗶 𝘁𝗼 𝗕𝗼𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗟𝗶𝗳𝗲

The proposal for a world class Campus Union at Cebu Technological University CTU Barili Campus has been approved by the Regional Development Council, marking a major step forward in improving student welfare.

The initiative addresses concerns on the lack of student lounges and recreational facilities. The proposal was developed by Subang PH Adviser and CTU Vice President for Research and Development Dr. Pet Roey L. Pascual, following earlier concerns raised by Campus Director Dr. Romeo C. Lepiten.

The planned Campus Union will serve as a central hub for student engagement, wellness, and academic support, especially important given the campus’ remote location.

Key features include a cafeteria with WiFi, convertible conference rooms that can also function as a movie theater, a multipurpose hall with a capacity of 500, a bowling alley, video game arcade, pool hall, and several lounge areas with recreational amenities.

The project is expected to enhance student well being, promote social interaction, and support academic success.

Following its approval, Dr. Pascual endorsed the project to Subang PH and SSG President Peter John C. Enorio.

The student body recognizes and appreciates the administration’s commitment to advancing student welfare through this transformative initiative.

𝘋𝘪𝘥 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘬𝘯𝘰𝘸 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 “𝘧𝘳𝘦𝘦 𝘵𝘶𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯” 𝘪𝘯 𝘚𝘵𝘢𝘵𝘦 𝘜𝘯𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘦𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘊𝘰𝘭𝘭𝘦𝘨𝘦𝘴 𝘤𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘴 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘯 𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘵𝘶𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯?

Under Republic Act No. 10931 and its Implementing Rules and Regulations, particularly Section 7, qualified students in SUCs are exempted not only from tuition but also from several other school fees such as library, laboratory, computer, registration, cultural, and athletic fees.

The law also provides that the first issuance of school IDs and certain school documents should be free of charge, as these are part of the covered school-related services under the program.

This initiative allows millions of Filipino students to pursue higher education through government subsidy.

At the same time, students are expected to follow university retention policies, complete their programs within the prescribed period, and contribute to national development through the Return Service Requirement under the law.

Free higher education is a public investment in the future of Filipino students.

𝗔𝗖𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗦 𝗨𝗡𝗗𝗘𝗥𝗪𝗔𝗬 𝗢𝗡 𝗦𝗧𝗨𝗗𝗘𝗡𝗧 𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗖𝗘𝗥𝗡𝗦 𝗥𝗔𝗜𝗦𝗘𝗗 𝗗𝗨𝗥𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗟𝗔𝗠𝗗Á𝗚 𝗦𝗨𝗠𝗠𝗜𝗧 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲

Concerns raised by students during the Lamdág Summit 2026 Student Dialogue are now being addressed through coordinated actions by campus offices and the Supreme Student Government (SSG).

Among the key issues raised were food safety practices in the campus canteen, proper waste segregation and sanitation, and internet connectivity in academic buildings.

In response, the Office of Resource Generation issued memorandums directing all canteen stall operators and food handlers to strictly comply with the mandatory use of hairnets during food preparation and serving, as well as the implementation of solid waste segregation and weekly general cleaning in the campus canteen area. These measures aim to strengthen food safety, sanitation, and environmental responsibility within the campus.

Meanwhile, the concern regarding internet connectivity is also being addressed. During a meeting held on March 12, 2026, SSG President Hon. Peter John C. Enorio and SSG Adviser Dr. Danny E. Carabio discussed the progress of solutions to the issues raised during the dialogue.

As part of the initiative to improve connectivity, Dr. Carabio personally donated and installed fiber optic cables that will soon provide internet access to the CAFBC and Engineering Building as part of Phase 1 of the campus connectivity initiative. The installation was carried out with the assistance of the Management Information System (MIS) Office of the campus. The installed fiber optic lines are currently awaiting bandwidth allocation from the university before the network can begin operations.

Other concerns raised during the Student Dialogue have already been forwarded to the concerned offices for appropriate action. The Student Affairs and Services (SAS) Office and the Supreme Student Government will continue to monitor and follow up the progress of each concern to ensure that they are properly addressed.

𝗜𝗻 𝗣𝗵𝗼𝘁𝗼𝘀 | 𝗟𝗔𝗠𝗗Á𝗚 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, 𝗣𝗔𝗚𝗣𝗔𝗗𝗔𝗬𝗢𝗡

On the third and final day of the LAMDÁG 2026 Leadership Summit, the Stellars embraced the spirit of 𝗣𝗮𝗴𝗽𝗮𝗱𝗮𝘆𝗼𝗻, a call to continue the light and carry it forward beyond the summit.

As the journey reached its culmination, the sessions focused on one powerful responsibility: 𝗽𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁. The Stellars reflected on how leadership must go beyond ideas and inspiration. True light must translate into action, into policies, and into systems that can continue serving long after a leader’s term has ended.

The discussions emphasized that sustained light requires institutional support. Leadership is not meant to stand alone, it must be strengthened by structures that allow initiatives to grow and endure. Recognition, therefore, is not given to feed ego, but to remind leaders of the responsibility they carry.

More importantly, the Stellars were encouraged to measure their growth not only through titles or achievements, but through the transformation within themselves. For while symbols may fade and moments may pass, the essence of leadership remains.

As the summit concluded, a powerful reminder echoed among the participants:𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗹𝗲 𝗺𝗮𝘆 𝗴𝗼 𝗼𝘂𝘁, 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗺𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗮𝗶𝗻. The flame was never in the candle, it was always within the leader.

Because in the end, the 𝙡𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩 𝙙𝙤𝙚𝙨𝙣’𝙩 𝙬𝙖𝙞𝙩. 𝙄𝙩 𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙙𝙨.

On the 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱 𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗟𝗔𝗠𝗗Á𝗚 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗦𝘂𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁, the Stellars continued their journey of growth that emphasized 𝗣𝗔𝗚𝗟𝗔𝗠𝗕𝗢. A reminder that leadership is not only awakened but must also be developed and sustained.

Stellars reflected on a deeper purpose of leadership:𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘁𝘀. The sessions challenged the Stellars to look beyond recognition and short-term achievements. They were reminded that the world has already shown where light is needed, and that the role of young leaders is not merely to be present, but to actively become channels of meaningful change.

Throughout the day, an important truth resonated: youth participation should never be treated as decoration, but as a force that can shape communities and institutions. Leadership is strengthened when systems are built to protect and sustain that light. After all, if a project fades the moment a leader’s term ends, then the light it carried was never meant to last.

Moreover, leadership is most evident in the moments of pressure and uncertainty. When turbulence comes, it is the character that determines whether the𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘄𝘀 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗿 𝗯𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗻𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗳𝗮𝗱𝗲. While events may shine only for a moment, the systems and structures built by committed leaders can continue illuminating the path for others.

True leadership does not appear brightly and disappear; it endures, strengthens, and continues to guide long after the applause fades.

𝗜𝗻 𝗣𝗵𝗼𝘁𝗼𝘀 | 𝗟𝗔𝗠𝗗Á𝗚 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, 𝗣𝗔𝗚𝗠𝗔𝗧𝗔.

On the first day of the 𝗟𝗔𝗠𝗗Á𝗚 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗦𝘂𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁, the atmosphere was filled with anticipation as 95 Stellars from various organizations of the Cebu Technological University–Barili Campus gathered with one shared purpose: to rediscover the true meaning of leadership.

With the theme “Pagmata, Paglambo, Pagpadayon,” 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝟭 began with 𝗣𝗮𝗴𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗮. The session centered on a powerful question: 𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘄𝗵𝘆 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗯𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗱𝗶𝗺? As the discussions unfolded, the Stellars were reminded that leadership is not about noise or recognition but about clarity and purpose. True leaders understand that 𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗻𝗼𝗶𝘀𝗲; 𝗶𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗰𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆, guiding others through truth rather than projection.

The conversations reflected on the reality that when leaders lose direction or burn out, the institutions they serve can also fade. A small flicker of doubt or neglect, if ignored, may slowly grow into darkness. Yet the summit emphasized that authentic leadership is not about appearing bright but about 𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐮𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐭𝐡, even in moments of uncertainty.

Stellars learned that vulnerability is not a weakness but a force that stabilizes the light within a leader. Applause may come and go, but the responsibility to guard one’s flame remains. As the day concluded, the Stellars were reminded of a humbling truth: potential alone is not yet power; it must be nurtured, guided, and sustained with integrity.
