The Republic Act No. 7610 upholds the rights of every child to be protected from abuse, exploitation, and discrimination. It emphasizes the duty of families, communities, and authorities to ensure that children grow in a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment.

Child protection is a shared responsibility. Abuse can take many forms—physical, emotional, sexual, neglect, and online exploitation—and often happens where it is least expected. Awareness, vigilance, and immediate action are essential in preventing further harm.

The public is strongly encouraged to remain observant and proactive. Any suspicion or knowledge of child abuse must be reported to the proper authorities without delay. Early intervention can save a child from continued harm and provide them the protection they deserve.

Under Advisory No. 2026-001, the PCW reminds all government instrumentalities that the GAD budget is an attribution of an agency’s existing appropriations representing the cost of mainstreaming gender perspectives into its core mandates, rather than a stand-alone or “extra” fund. Therefore, it cannot be treated as a general reserve to comply with the energy conservation mandate under Memorandum Circular No. 114 or the national energy emergency declared under Executive Order No. 110.
However, the PCW allows for the strategic readjustment of the GAD Plan and Budget (GPB). Agencies may redirect funds from non-feasible, travel-intensive, or high-energy consumption activities toward cost-efficient interventions that respond to emerging gender issues exacerbated by the crisis. Such readjustments must remain compliant with existing GAD budget policy and administrative and audit guidelines issued by PCW, the Department of Budget and Management, and the Commission on Audit.

On April 17, 2019, the Philippines enacted Republic Act No. 11313 or the Safe Spaces Act, recognizing that harassment can happen anywhere: on the streets, in workplaces, in public spaces, in schools, and even online.

As we approach its 7th year of enactment, the message remains clear: everyone deserves safety, dignity, and respect in all spaces.
This law not only defines what constitutes gender-based sexual harassment—it also affirms that these acts have consequences and that accountability is key to building safer communities.

At bilang Pilipinong may respeto, maging kabahagi tayo sa pagbuo ng komunidad kung saan ang lahat ay ligtas at walang harassed. Kaya sa pagkakaroon ng safe spaces, kasali tayo. Ano, tara?

Alagang Babae: Mental Health and Menopausal Wellness Awareness 💜

The Municipality of Rodriguez, through the Municipal Gender and Development Office (MGADO) in partnership with the Local Council of Women (LCW), successfully conducted the activity “Alagang Babae: Mental Health and Menopausal Wellness Awareness” today.

The activity aimed to promote awareness of women’s mental health and menopausal wellness, equipping participants with essential knowledge and support to better understand and manage their overall well-being.

This initiative was made possible through the continued support of Municipal Mayor, Hon. Ronnie S. Evangelista (Ret. Gen.), Municipal Vice Mayor, Hon. Edgardo "Umpek" Sison, and the Sangguniang Bayan, particularly Committee on Gender and Development Chairperson, Hon. Arnel De Vera, and Vice Chairperson, Hon. Annee Cuerpo, reaffirming the municipality’s commitment to advancing women’s health and empowerment.

The activity was spearheaded by the Municipal Gender and Development Office (MGADO) under the leadership of Priscilla M. San Pascual, OIC–MGADO, together with the dedicated MGADO Team, serving as the lead office in the successful implementation of the activity.

Through initiatives like this, the Municipality of Rodriguez continues to promote holistic wellness, gender equality, and inclusive development for all women in the community.

Ngayong araw, ginugunita natin ang Araw ng Kagitingan, isang pag-alala sa sakripisyo at pagmamahal sa bayan ng ating mga bayani, sundalo at bawat Pilipinong patuloy na lumalaban para sa bansa. 🇵🇭

Nawa’y magsilbi itong paalala na ang tunay na kagitingan ay makikita hindi lamang sa pakikipagdigmaan, kundi sa araw-araw na pagtindig para sa tama, pagkakaisa at malasakit sa kapwa.
