STATEMENT OF MAYORS FOR GOOD GOVERNANCE (M4GG) ON THE SIGNIFICANT INCREASE OF THE 2026 LOCAL GOVERNMENT SUPPORT FUND

Mayors for Good Governance (M4GG) welcomes the decision of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. to increase the Local Government Support Fund (LGSF) to ₱57 billion, up from ₱22 billion in 2025.

This significant increase affirms the vital role of local governments in delivering services that matter most to our people. It strengthens the principle of using public funds directly for the benefit of local communities, enabling LGUs to respond more effectively to local needs.

Additionally, we fully support the downloading of funds to LGUs for the construction of school buildings under the Classroom-Building Acceleration Program Act, covered by a Memorandum of Agreement between LGUs and the Department of Education. Empowering local governments to directly implement school infrastructure projects can help accelerate classroom construction, address congestion, and ensure that facilities are built based on actual community needs.

If implemented with transparency, accountability and integrity, this move can meaningfully contribute to restoring public trust in government institutions. As a movement of Mayors championing the principles of good governance, we remain committed to managing public funds prudently and responsibly for the benefit of our constituents.

M4GG is ready to work constructively with the national government to ensure that the 2026 LGSF upholds integrity, strengthens local autonomy, and delivers genuine impact on the ground.

Pinaagi sa kusog, determinasyon, ug walay hunong nga paningkamot sa kapulisan, ug subay sa hugot nga mando ni 𝐏𝐁𝐆𝐄𝐍 𝐑𝐄𝐃𝐑𝐈𝐂𝐎 𝐀 𝐌𝐀𝐑𝐀𝐍𝐀𝐍, 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐃𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫 (𝐑𝐃) 𝐏𝐑𝐎𝟕 ug 𝐏𝐂𝐎𝐋 𝐀𝐁𝐔𝐁𝐀𝐊𝐀𝐑 𝐔 𝐌𝐀𝐍𝐆𝐄𝐋𝐄𝐍 𝐉𝐑, 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐃𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫 (𝐏𝐃) 𝐂𝐏𝐏𝐎 mapadali ang pagsikop sa mga responsable, gipahigayon dayon ang paspas ug koordinadong hot pursuit operations.

Tungod sa maong lig-on nga direksyon gikan sa taas nga pamunuan, nasikop ang duha ka suspetsado nga karon mag-atubang og kaso nga 𝐅𝐫𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐌𝐮𝐫𝐝𝐞𝐫.

Gawas niini, atol sa pagpatuman sa operasyon, adunay usa ka lalaki nga misulay sa pagpugong ug pagbabag sa kapulisan. Siya usab nadakpan ug pasakaan og kaso nga 𝐎𝐛𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐉𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐞 subay sa balaod.

Ang kalampusan sa maong operasyon usa ka pamatuod sa lig-on nga liderato sa atong 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐞𝐟 𝐨𝐟 𝐏𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐞 (𝐂𝐎𝐏) , nga uban sa klaro nga mando sa RD ug PD, nagpakita og kusog nga kabubut-on, dedikasyon, ug walay kahadlok nga pagserbisyo alang sa katawhan. Ang maong paningkamot nagpadayag nga ang kapulisan sa Balamban dili magpatuyang kon hustisya na ang hisgutan.

Ang Balamban Municipal Police Station nagpasalig sa padayon nga pagpanalipod sa kaluwasan sa komunidad ug sa pagdala sa mga responsable atubangan sa hustisya. Kini nga kalampusan bunga sa lig-on nga koordinasyon sa kapulisan ug sa aktibong kooperasyon sa komunidad.

Nagpasalamat ang kapulisan sa padayon nga suporta ug pagsalig sa publiko ug nag-awhag sa tanang residente nga magpabiling alerto ug makigtambayayong sa mga awtoridad alang sa kalinaw ug kahapsay sa atong lungsod.

Nagpadayon ug pag apod apod ang partner sa LGU Balamban ang NGO nga Peace Wind Japan ug ang APAD uban sa dakong support ni Mayor Amos ngadto sa taga Cabasiangan nga naigo sa Bagyo ug baha sa bukid. Mga plywood, sin or GI sheets, coco lumber ug mga lansang nadawat sa mga tawo.
Dakong Pasalamat sa mga naapektuhan sa baha sa dakong tabang kanila. Gikan sa Cabasiangan gahapon sabado mo Adto karong adlawa sa Ginatilan ug Sunog karong adlawa para sa mga labing nagrabehan sa baha ug bagyo.

Nagpadayon ang pag apod apod sa mga shelter repair kits nga gilangkoban sa 6 ka palid nga sin or GI sheets nga baga gyud, 4 pcs marine plywood, 2x 2x 10 nga coco lumber ug 1/2 kilo nga umbrella nails, 1/2 nga wire nails. Kini pinaagi sa Asia Pacific Alliance for Disaster Risk Management, Peace Wind Japan and Japan Platform mga NGOs nga gihangyo gyud ni Mayor Amos.

Aron magpadayon ang rehabilitation para sa mga grabe nga naapektuhan sa baha.

Salamat sa mga NGOs ni Mayor Amos sa JARC Construction ug sa mga nagpaluyo niini.
Nahuman na ang Nangka, Pier uno sa Cantuod ug sa Tunga, lakip niini ang Prenza, Arpili, Duangan, Cabagdalan, Abucayan ug Pondol. Mga flood prone areas maoy gi siguro sa LGU ug Peace Wind with APAD.

Ipahibalo pohon ang schedule para sa Matun og, Bayong, Cabasiangan, Sunog, ug Ginatilan.
