On August 27, 2026, personnel of the Baguio City Cyber Response Team (BCCRT), under the supervision of PMAJ Annie Carmel C. Comising, Team Leader, and through the leadership of PCOL Rafmil Dela Paz Corpuz, Chief of RACU CAR, conducted a symposium on Responsible Use of Social Media and Cyberbullying for the high school students of the University of Baguio High School (UBHS), as part of the โSymposium on Safe UBHS: Speak Up, Act Responsibly, Foster Respect, Empower Others,โ a school-wide campaign promoting bullying prevention, responsible reporting, and positive bystander action.
The lecture emphasized responsible social media use, protection of personal information, prevention of cyberbullying, and avoidance of harmful content, while encouraging students to think before they click, post, or share and strengthening the partnership between the school community and the Philippine National Police in promoting a safe and responsible digital environment.
PMGEN Wilson C. Asueta, Director, PNP Anti-Cybercrime Group, emphasized the importance of empowering the youth with knowledge and responsible digital practices, stating, โEmpowering our youth with knowledge and responsible digital practices is key to creating a safer online environment. Through strong partnerships with schools and communities, we can promote respect, accountability, and responsible use of social media.โ
