Atty. JD Posts writes:

For years, they said politics made him rich. They said power gave his family privilege beyond the struggles of ordinary Filipinos. Yet today, like countless parents in this country, he stands at an airport sending his own children abroad to work, to labor, to build a future far from home.

There is irony in that image.

The politician so easily painted as the symbol of excess now shares the same quiet heartbreak carried by many Filipino families. And perhaps the harsher truth is not how quickly people accuse those in public service of greed, but how readily society strips them of humanity, assuming that every sacrifice, every pain, and every ordinary struggle must be fabricated simply because they entered politics.

Meanwhile, many stand and cheer for those who barely entered politics yet suddenly became owners of sprawling businesses, wielders of influence, and untouchable personalities overnight. Others inherit political bloodlines already wrapped in wealth and power, yet are spared the same relentless suspicion and scrutiny.

Perhaps that is the real irony of all this. We do not judge consistently. We judge selectively. And sometimes, the public can be just as cruel in assigning guilt as the corruption they claim to despise.

Sometimes, the cruelest judgment is not corruption proven, but humanity denied.

Motherhood isnโ€™t just a title; it is a relentless, beautiful act of courage. Whether she is the one who gave you life, the one who raised you, or the one who stepped in when you needed it most, a motherโ€™s influence is the quiet gravity that keeps our worlds in orbit.

To the mothers, the matriarchs, and the guardians who lead with grace - today we offer our deepest respect for the resilience you show and the foundations you build. Thank you for the strength it takes to nurture, the wisdom it takes to guide, and for being the steady ground upon which we stand.

Happy Motherโ€™s Day.

Today, we honor and celebrate the hardworking men and women whose dedication, sacrifice, and perseverance continue to build Baguio and keep our city moving forward each day.

Congressman Mauricio G. Domogan knows well the dignity of honest labor. He is no stranger to physically demanding work, having spent his early years as a miner and janitor, enduring long days of hard labor to help support his family and pursue his education. These life experiences shaped his deep understanding of the struggles of ordinary workers and strengthened his lifelong commitment to championing their welfare.

As a lawyer and public servant, Congressman Domogan has consistently stood for the rights of workers, advocating for opportunities, fairness, and policies that uplift the lives of those who tirelessly provide for their families.

On this Labor Day, we extend our heartfelt congratulations and gratitude to each and everyone who continues to work, sacrifice, and persevere for their loved ones and for a better future.

Your hard work is the foundation of our communities, and your contributions will always be honored.

On behalf of Congressman Mauricio G. Domogan and his family, we extend our deepest gratitude to all the friends, loved ones, supporters, and the people of Baguio who came to pay their final respects to Christopher Mark Dy, who was laid to rest yesterday, April 29, 2026.

Mark loved Baguio deeply and served this city with all his heart. The overwhelming outpouring of love, prayers, and support throughout his wake and burial is a powerful reminder that Baguio loved Mark just as deeply in return. Our city has truly lost one of its sons.

While Mark now rests in the loving arms of the Lord, his memory will continue to live on through the family he cherished so dearly and through the countless lives he touched. We thank God for the gift of his life, his service, and the love he shared so generously.

During this time of profound loss, we humbly ask for continued prayers for the Domogan and Dy family, and for your understanding as they are given the time and privacy they need to grieve and navigate the difficult days ahead.

Once again, thank you, people of Baguio, for your compassion, your prayers, and your heartfelt celebration of Markโ€™s life. Your love and remembrance will never be forgotten.๐Ÿ™โค

It is with deep sorrow that we share the passing of Mark Christopher Dy, who has returned to the Creator. His loss leaves a silence that is difficult to put into words, especially for his wife Janice, his daughters Siobhy and Shy, his parents, and the family who held him so close to their hearts.

Mark lived a life marked by quiet strength and unwavering love. He gave of himself fully to his family, to his friends, and to those fortunate enough to know him. He was the kind of man who showed up, who stayed, and who made people feel that they mattered. In his presence, there was a sense of care and steadiness that brought comfort to many.

At home, he was both dependable and endearing, someone who valued order and took pride in everything he did. But above all, he was a devoted husband and father. To his daughters, his โ€œprincesses,โ€ he was a constant source of love, guidance, and joy, a father who gave his time, his attention, and his whole heart.

Grief like this is not meant to be carried alone. In our culture, we gather in prayer, in remembrance, and in support of one another. The family is deeply grateful for the kindness, prayers, and understanding extended to them during this time, and humbly asks for privacy as they navigate this loss.

โ€œPrecious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his faithful servants.โ€ - Psalm 116:15

May Mark now find rest in the embrace of the Lord, and may the love he gave continue to live on in those he leaves behind.
