PCNHS master teachers lead school-wide weeding drive
Climate. Action. Preservation.
Committed to intensifying climate action under the Sustainable Development Goals (SGD) No. 13, the master teachers at Pines City National High School spearheaded the weeding activity held at the Arboretum, Leonard Wood Road, Baguio City on January 31, 2026.
Approximately 101 participants, composed of 18 teachers and 83 students from different clubs/organizations, took part in the weeding project.
Arnold Cayso, master teacher I, oriented the participants on the safety rules and procedures to be observed in the weeding activity, including the right handling of tools, areas to be cleaned, monitoring of trees planted, and other precautionary steps to ensure safety.
The weeding initiative strengthened the sustainability of the memorandum of agreement between the PCNHS Master Teachers Organization and the Baguio City Environment and Parks Management Office in advocating DepEd Order 33 -Series 2008. Specifically, responding to the threat of climate danger and global warming through massive, intensive, and sustained tree planting, tree growing, and tree caring programs.
Moreover, the weeding drive also aimed to deepen environmental awareness among the teachers, students, and employees; and promote camaraderie and collaboration among stakeholders.
