Fairview Elementary School continues to improve its facilities as the boysโ€™ and girlsโ€™ comfort rooms on the first floor undergo fixing and repiping. The repair work aims to address plumbing concerns, restore proper water flow and drainage, and provide learners with cleaner, safer, and more functional comfort rooms.

Even the rain wonโ€™t stop the hardworking workers from doing their task for the learners of FES. With dedication and commitment, they continue working despite the weather, knowing that their efforts will make a meaningful difference in the daily lives of the children. It is a simple repair, but a significant step toward making Fairview Elementary School a cleaner, safer, healthier, and more learner-friendly place.

BAGUIO CITY โ€” August 28, 2026. Dr. Freda B. Dayog, School Principal of Fairview Elementary School, received a Plaque of Recognition from the Philippine Dental Association (PDA) โ€“ Baguio City Chapter during its A.Y. 2025โ€“2026 Madasigon celebration. The recognition honors the exceptional support, valuable partnership, and unwavering dedication to the chapterโ€™s projects and mission.

Thank you, PDA Baguio City Chapter, and most especially Dr. Awing-Tauli, for making Fairview part of this meaningful partnership. Truly, when we work together, our learners smile brighter!

The Fairview Elementary School family was busy preparing the school for the learners safe return.

Our teachers rolled up their sleevesโ€”mopping water from the classroom floors, wiping molds from the walls, and cleaning chairs, tables, and cabinets affected by the damp weather. At the same time, SPTA President Noel Wansiyan helped clear and clean the bushes along the canal beside the school building, making the surroundings safer and more presentable.

On the same day, the cementing of the school entrance was also carried out, an important step in improving access and safety for our learners, teachers, and parents.

It was truly a day of bayanihan and shared responsibility. Every mop, every wiped surface, every cleared bush, and every improvement made reflects our common goalโ€”to prepare a cleaner, safer, and better learning environment for our FES learners.

Thank you to our dedicated teachers, SPTA officers, workers, parents, and all stakeholders who continue to lend their hands and hearts for Fairview Elementary School.

Together, we prepare. Together, we care. Together, we make FES safer and better.

Safe, Connected, and Caring: Fairview ES Stands Together Through ADM

On August 20, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., the Teaching and Non-Teaching Staff of Fairview Elementary School, headed by Principal Dr. Freda B. Dayog, came together through Google Meet for a meaningful Faculty Online Kumustahan Meeting amid the continuing challenges brought by the extreme inclement weather and habagat; the gathering began with an attendance check, confirming that everyone was safe and present, followed by a heartfelt opening prayer led by Maโ€™am Abegail G. Tulay, and proceeded to a warm kumustahan facilitated by Dr. Freda, where teachers and non-teaching personnel shared their conditions at home, their experiences, and the status of the Alternative Delivery Mode (ADM) implementation; teachers reported on learnersโ€™ participation and compliance with activities delivered through videos, activity sheets, and instructions posted in their respective group chats, while some also shared meaningful experiences from their online classes and regular check-ins with learners and parents. With genuine concern and empathy, Dr. Freda emphasized that the safety of both learners and teachers must always come first, reminding everyone to remain sensitive to the present circumstances of families and to properly guide learners and parents in communicating their needs to barangay officials and other appropriate authorities who can extend assistance; she likewise reminded teachers to exercise compassion and flexibility as they continue implementing ADM, recognizing that every learner may be facing different challenges at home.

The meeting also provided an opportunity to prepare for the upcoming Term 1 Examination, with Master Teacher Sir Walter S. Crisostomo reminding teachers to carefully review and modify ready-made examination materials based on the competencies already completed and those intended for assessment, while also preparing class records for checking in anticipation of the September 11, 2026 Term 1 Card Giving; Dr. Freda further discussed the upcoming INSET, highlighting the responsibilities of the identified speakers and participants and the importance of addressing the timely professional learning needs identified through the teachersโ€™ needs assessment. More than a meeting, the online kumustahan became a space for Fairview ES personnel to listen, understand, encourage, and learn from one another, as teachers shared practical strategies and best practices in making ADM work despite difficult circumstances, a humble reminder that even when classes are disrupted by storms, the Fairview spirit of care, teamwork, compassion, and commitment to learning remains strong, with every teacher doing their part to keep learners safe, supported, and connected.

As part of the schoolโ€™s continuing commitment to disaster preparedness, an additional emergency bell was installed to strengthen the schoolโ€™s early warning system during emergencies.
The need for an additional bell was identified during the continuous conduct of emergency preparedness drills under ๐—ฃ๐—ฟ๐—ผ๐—ท๐—ฒ๐—ฐ๐˜ ๐—Ÿ๐—”๐—•๐—˜๐—ฌ, the schoolโ€™s localized Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) initiative. During the post-drill assessment, it was observed that the existing bell was not clearly audible on the first and fourth floors of the building. This gap could affect the timely dissemination of emergency warnings and the immediate response of learners and personnel.

In response, the school installed an additional bell in a strategic location to ensure that the warning signal can be heard more effectively throughout the building. The initiative demonstrates how regular drills and post-activity assessments help the school identify gaps and implement practical improvements in its emergency preparedness systems.

The name LABEY was inspired by a bird known in the Cordillera. Based on indigenous belief, the appearance of the bird serves as a warning of possible unfavorable events, such as an approaching typhoon. In the past, people regarded this natural signal as a reason to take precautionary action or postpone their journey.

Similarly, Project LABEY reminds the school community to recognize warning signs, remain alert, and prepare before emergencies occur. The installation of the additional bell is a concrete example of this principleโ€”turning an observation from a drill into an actual improvement in the schoolโ€™s safety and early warning system.

Through Project LABEY, the school continues to strengthen its preparedness by learning from every drill, addressing identified gaps, and ensuring a safer school environment for all.
