Naglabas ang Land Transportation Office (LTO), sa pamamagitan ng Intelligence and Investigation Division (IID) ng Show Cause Order (SCO) at Subpoena laban sa mga indibidwal na sangkot sa viral na insidente ng road rage na naganap noong ika-24 ng Abril 2026, bandang alas-7 ng gabi, sa kahabaan ng Chino Roces Extension malapit sa Alphaland Building, Brgy. Magallanes, Makati City. Ang nasabing insidente ay nag-ugat sa isang banggaan ng mga sasakyan na nauwi sa hit-and-run at kaguluhan sa kalsada.

Batay sa ulat ng pulisya, naganap ang sunud-sunod na banggaan ng mga sasakyan na kalaunan ay sinundan ng pagtakas ng isa sa mga sangkot. Sa pagtugis ng ibang motorista, muling nagdulot ng panganib sa kalsada ang tumatakas na sasakyan bago ito tuluyang naharang.

Sa gitna ng insidente, isang indibidwal ang nakitang naglabas ng baril at inutusang bumaba ang drayber ng sasakyan, habang isa namang indibidwal ang nanira ng gulong nito—mga pangyayaring makikita sa kumalat na viral video.

Bilang bahagi ng imbestigasyon, pinadalhan ng Subpoena ang ilang indibidwal na sangkot, kabilang ang mga motorista at ang taong sangkot sa paninira ng gulong, upang magpaliwanag at magbigay-linaw sa insidente.

Samantala, pinadalhan naman ng Show Cause Order ang drayber na tumakas matapos ang banggaan at ang indibidwal na naglabas ng baril, upang ipaliwanag kung bakit hindi sila dapat managot sa posibleng paglabag sa umiiral na batas at regulasyon sa kalsada.

Inatasan ang mga nabanggit na humarap sa isang clarificatory hearing sa ika-4 ng Mayo 2026, alas-11 ng umaga, sa Intelligence and Investigation Division ng LTO Central Office. Ang hindi pagdalo ay may kaakibat na kaukulang parusa alinsunod sa batas.

Ayon kay LTO Chief, Assistant Secretary Markus V. Lacanilao, “Hindi kailanman katanggap-tanggap ang ganitong uri ng asal sa kalsada. Ang anumang anyo ng karahasan, pananakot, at iresponsableng pagmamaneho ay mahigpit na pananagutin ng LTO. Ang kalsada ay hindi lugar para sa init ng ulo—ito ay espasyo para sa disiplina, paggalang, at kaligtasan ng bawat isa.”

Binigyang-diin pa ng LTO na patuloy nitong paiigtingin ang pagpapatupad ng batas laban sa mga pasaway na motorista at sinumang maglalagay sa panganib sa kapwa. Nanawagan din ang ahensya sa publiko na pairalin ang kahinahunan at responsableng pagmamaneho sa lahat ng oras upang maiwasan ang kaparehong insidente.

The Land Transportation Office – Negros Island Region (LTO-NIR) 𝙨𝙚𝙧𝙫𝙚𝙙 𝙖 𝙍𝙚𝙨𝙤𝙡𝙪𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 on April 29, 2026, at around 10:20 a.m. along Tomaro Road, Brgy. Pahanocoy, Bacolod City, against a transport service cooperative and its representative.

The action stemmed from a 𝙫𝙞𝙧𝙖𝙡 𝙫𝙞𝙙𝙚𝙤 showing a modernized jeepney 𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙚𝙜𝙚𝙙𝙡𝙮 𝙧𝙪𝙣𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙖 𝙧𝙚𝙙 𝙩𝙧𝙖𝙛𝙛𝙞𝙘 𝙡𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩.

The Resolution was explained by the Intelligence and Investigation Unit (IIU), and the operator was directed to settle the corresponding fine at the LTO-NIR office.

LTO-NIR under the supervision of 𝑶𝑰𝑪 𝑹𝒆𝒈𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒂𝒍 𝑫𝒊𝒓𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒐𝒓 𝑱𝒆𝒄𝒌 𝑫. 𝑪𝒐𝒏𝒍𝒖, reminds all drivers and operators to strictly observe traffic laws.

The Land Transportation Office – Negros Island Region (LTO-NIR), under the leadership of 𝙊𝙄𝘾 𝙍𝙚𝙜𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙖𝙡 𝘿𝙞𝙧𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙤𝙧 𝙅𝙚𝙘𝙠 𝘿. 𝘾𝙤𝙣𝙡𝙪, clarifies that the reported “gas and go” incident in Sipalay City is 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙖 𝙘𝙖𝙨𝙚 𝙤𝙛 𝙛𝙪𝙚𝙡 𝙚𝙫𝙖𝙨𝙞𝙤𝙣.

This clarification is the result of LTO-NIR’s prompt investigation conducted by its Intelligence and Investigation Unit.

One of the owners of the four (4) vehicles involved directly coordinated with LTO-NIR and confirmed that the incident stemmed from a 𝙢𝙞𝙨𝙪𝙣𝙙𝙚𝙧𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙣𝙙𝙞𝙣𝙜, not an intentional failure to pay.

Further verification established that the situation does not qualify as a “𝙜𝙖𝙨 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙜𝙤” 𝙘𝙖𝙨𝙚.

LTO-NIR stands firm—no valid registration, no excuse.

The Land Transportation Office – Negros Island Region (LTO-NIR) under the leadership of 𝑶𝑰𝑪 𝑹𝒆𝒈𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒂𝒍 𝑫𝒊𝒓𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒐𝒓 𝑱𝒆𝒄𝒌 𝑫. 𝑪𝒐𝒏𝒍𝒖, has upheld multiple traffic violations committed by a motorist apprehended in Bacolod City, reinforcing strict enforcement of road safety and registration laws.

Records show that on August 9, 2024, the driver was cited for Reckless Driving (2nd Offense), Failure to Wear Seat Belt, and Operating an Unregistered Motor Vehicle.

Despite payment of ₱14,010.00 under protest on March 3, 2026, LTO-NIR affirmed that the vehicle had no valid registration at the time of apprehension, as renewal was only completed hours later.

The agency emphasized that registration must be valid at the time of vehicle operation, and late compliance does not excuse prior violations. Consequently, all charges—including reckless driving and seat belt non-compliance—were sustained, with corresponding penalties and demerit points confirmed.

LTO-NIR also issued a stern warning against repeat offenses, stressing that stricter sanctions, including possible license suspension, may be imposed.

The decision, issued on March 23, 2026, underscores LTO-NIR’s commitment to road safety, accountability, and the strict implementation of transportation laws.

Bilang bahagi ng ika-anim na buwan ng mga naisagawang hakbang ng pamunuan, nagkaroon ng programang “Kuwentuhan with the LTO Chief” ang Land Transportation Office (LTO) na naglalayong magbigay ng malinaw at accessible na paliwanag sa publiko hinggil sa nga polisiya, reporma, at resulta ng operasyon ng ahensya. Tampok sa unang sesyon nang nasabing programa ang paglulunsad ng “I-Report Mo Kay LTO Chief,” isang direktang sumbungan na nagbibigay sa publiko ng mabilis at madaling paraan upang mag-ulat ng reklamo, katiwalian, o concern sa pamamagitan ng website na www.ireportmokayltochief.ph at opisyal na page/messenger nito na I-Report Mo Kay LTO Chief. Ang inisyatibong ito ay kaayon ng 7-point priority agenda ni LTO Chief, Assistant Secretary Markus V. Ang mga matatanggap na sumbong ay agad na dadaan sa kaukulang beripikasyon upang matiyak na naaaksyunan ang bawat reklamo alinsunod sa umiiral na mga patakaran.

Ayon kay LTO Chief, Assistant Secretary Markus V. Lacanilao, ang nasabing inisyatibo ay bahagi ng patuloy na reporma ng ahensya upang palakasin ang accountability at gawing mas bukas ang komunikasyon sa pagitan ng gobyerno at publiko.

The Land Transportation Office – Negros Island Region (LTO-NIR) under the leadership of OIC Regional Director Jeck D. Conlu has endorsed several driver’s licenses to the Central Office for 𝒓𝒆𝒗𝒐𝒄𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 after drivers tested positive for illegal drug use during a random drug testing operation on April 1, 2026.

The operation, conducted under 𝑶𝑷𝑳𝑨𝑵 𝑯𝑨𝑹𝑨𝑩𝑨𝑺 at the Talisay-Bacolod Transport Terminal in Brgy. Banago, was carried out in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).

In accordance with Republic Act No. 10586, Republic Act No. 9165, and LTO Memorandum Circular No. 2017-2008, drivers who test positive for illegal drugs face permanent revocation of their licenses and lifetime disqualification from reapplying.

LTO-NIR reaffirmed its zero-tolerance policy against drugged driving and its commitment to ensuring safer roads for the public.

A joint late-night operation by the 𝙇𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙏𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙨𝙥𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙊𝙛𝙛𝙞𝙘𝙚 – 𝙉𝙚𝙜𝙧𝙤𝙨 𝙄𝙨𝙡𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙍𝙚𝙜𝙞𝙤𝙣 (𝙇𝙏𝙊-𝙉𝙄𝙍), under the leadership of 𝙊𝙄𝘾 𝙍𝙚𝙜𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙖𝙡 𝘿𝙞𝙧𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙤𝙧 𝙅𝙚𝙘𝙠 𝘿. 𝘾𝙤𝙣𝙡𝙪, and the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) successfully disrupted illegal motorcycle drag racing along Circumferential Road, Barangay Granada, Bacolod City.

Acting on a tip from a confidential informant about nightly drag races along the BANOCEH Economic Highway, authorities conducted an operation at around 11:30 PM on April 26.

The action led to the impoundment of 13 motorcycles due to document-related violations and the issuance of citation tickets to at least 20 riders for violations of Republic Act 4136.

The operation highlights LTO-NIR’s continued commitment to road safety and strict enforcement against illegal racing and other traffic violations.
