The Nueva Vizcaya Film Collective (NVFC) held its official registration and orientation on April 22, 2026, at the Aritao Municipal Gymnasium, gathering local filmmakers, storytellers, and cultural workers in the province in an initial step toward building a stronger creative community.
More than a registration, the activity opened space for collaboration rooted in local identity and storytelling. Support from the LGU of Aritao, led by Mayor Remelina Peros-Galam, alongside Hussain Sumaling of the Provincial Tourism and Culture Office and theatre director Zemaia Sen Paulino, underscored the importance of nurturing regional cinema.
Award-winning cinematographer Mackie Galvez of the Film Academy of the Philippines served as the speaker, emphasizing the value of investing in film workers and telling authentic regional stories.
Led by producer Rhea Operaรฑa-DG and film director Mes de Guzman, the initiative aims to foster skills development and creative exchange among filmmakers. While still in its early stage, the collective lays the groundwork for future trainings and projects.
The Local Youth Development Office (LYDO) also expressed support in honing and celebrating the talents of young Aritaoeรฑos, reinforcing the goal of empowering the next generation of storytellers. ๐ฉท
