Montalban Tourism & Cultural Affairs Pamahalaang Bayan ng Montalban - MONTALBAN TOURISM Rodriguez (formerly known as Montalban) is the 1st class municipality in the province of Rizal, Philllipines.

Montalban is set on the graceful repose between Bulacan, Quezon province and Quezon City and towns of Rizal. Hence, it’s named culled from the Spanish words “MONTE” meaning mountain and “ALBA” meaning white thus called White Mountain. It’s comprises of 36,308 hectares and the biggest in the province of Rizal. It has Eleven (11) Baranggays
Basically, Montalban is a rolling, rugged and mountainous area of white rock formation where part of the Sierra Mountain Range is located and is one of the few rock climbing sites in the Philippines. The scenic white rock walls vary in height between 80 to 160 feet and provide different levels of difficulty for the climbers; due to the presence of the limestone crags and marble boulders in the river paved the way naming Montalban as the Town of White Mountain. Also features the two (2) big white boulder of mountain (from the left he Mt. Pamitinan, from the right Binikayan) known for the legend of Bernardo Carpio, believed to be the strongest man in ancient times. Underneath the mountains, the 40ft Wawa Dam flows through with numbers of white monolithic rocks lying along the river. Even more, the town is known for the Pamitinan Cave which is contributory to the history of our country having been the site where Andres Bonifacio together with other seven katipuneros declared the first Independence in 1895 against Spain. The cave still bears the inscription of Andres Bonifacio and his followers” Viva La Independencia Filipinas”. In this dynamic and vibrant town of Montalban, expect only to find a travel destination with warm hospitality of the people and the Town of White Mountain. A town of rich history, heritage and natures wonder.

BARRIER-FREE TOURISM 2026
Tourism for All. Accessible to All. Inclusive for All. ♿✨
📍 Coco Mountain Resort, Montalban, Rizal

Day 1 done! ✨

Barrier-Free Tourism is more than just accessibility—it’s about creating tourism spaces where everyone can participate, feel safe, respected, and welcomed, regardless of ability.

For Day 1, our participants gained meaningful insights from our speakers:

⚖️ Mr. Rizalio Sanchez discussed the laws and policies that protect the rights, welfare, and inclusion of Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), highlighting the responsibility of tourism stakeholders in upholding an inclusive and accessible tourism environment.

✨ Ms. Carla Dela Cruz introduced the different types of disabilities and demonstrated the proper way of assessing and responding to the needs of PWD tourists and guests, helping tourism establishments provide more appropriate and respectful assistance.

Our tourism-related establishments, tourist guides, members of the academe, and barangay representatives also actively participated throughout the session, showing their willingness to learn and understand how we can work together to make Montalban’s tourism industry more inclusive, accessible, and welcoming for everyone. ♿✨

This meaningful seminar was brought to the Municipality of Montalban by the Department of Tourism – CALABARZON (DOT IV-A), headed by Regional Director Ms. Marites T. Castro. We sincerely thank DOT CALABARZON for bringing the Barrier-Free Tourism Seminar closer to our local tourism stakeholders and for continuously championing a more inclusive, accessible, and responsible tourism industry.

This collaborative effort of the Municipal Tourism and Cultural Affairs Department (MTCAD), together with DOT CALABARZON and our local tourism stakeholders, is made possible through the support of the Local Government Unit of Montalban, headed by Mayor Ronnie S. Evangelista, Vice Mayor Edgardo Sison, and the Sangguniang Bayan, through Hon. Mark David C. Acob, Chairperson on Tourism and Culture.

💙 Because tourism should be for everyone. By learning, understanding, and making our spaces more accessible, we take another step toward a tourism industry that leaves no one behind.

𝐍𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐀𝐋 𝐆𝐑𝐀𝐍𝐃𝐏𝐀𝐑𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐒’ 𝐃𝐀𝐘 👵👴💖

Today, we celebrate National Grandparents’ Day—a meaningful occasion to honor the love, wisdom, sacrifices, and enduring presence of our beloved grandparents. They are our family’s storytellers, keepers of cherished traditions, and sources of strength who continue to nurture generations with unconditional love and care.

The Local Government of Rodriguez (Montalban), under the leadership of Mayor Ronnie S. Evangelista, Vice Mayor Edgardo Z. Sison, and the Sangguniang Bayan, through Councilor Mark David Acob, Chairperson of the Committee on Tourism and Culture, together with the Municipal Tourism and Cultural Affairs Department, joins the nation in paying tribute to all our beloved grandparents and recognizing their invaluable role in strengthening families and communities.

On this special day, may we take a moment to express our love, gratitude, and appreciation to our lolos and lolas. May their stories continue to inspire us, their wisdom guide us, and their love remain a treasured part of every family.

Mabuhay at maraming salamat sa ating mga Lolo at Lola! 💕

And that’s a wrap! 🚐✨

Day 2 of the DOT 4A Accreditation Assitance on Wheels continued at the XentroMall Montalban Event Center, 2/F, Brgy. Manggahan, providing hands-on assistance to our tourism-related establishments and tourist guides—from checking requirements to getting the right guidance throughout the accreditation process. 📑✨

On the same day, the DOT Region IV-A team also conducted ocular visitations to two (2) tourism-related establishments (TREs) that had completed and submitted their accreditation requirements. This helps ensure that establishments are ready to meet the standards for quality, safety, professionalism, and better visitor experience. 🌿

Because accreditation isn’t just about paperwork—it’s about leveling up Montalban Tourism! 🚀💚

This initiative is made possible through the Department of Tourism – Region IV-A, headed by Regional Director Ms. Marites T. Castro, with the support of our Local Government Unit, led by Mayor Ronnie S. Evangelista, together with Vice Mayor Edgardo Sison and the Sangguniang Bayan, through Chairperson on Tourism and Culture, Hon. Councilor Mark David C. Acob.
