The 3-day Orientation and Hands-on Training on the Barangay Information System (BIS) and Barangay Information Management System (BIMS), together with the Orientation on BPOC, BADAC,KP and SGLGB, successfully took place on February 26–28 at Emerald Grains Hotel in Baguio City.

Participants actively engaged in workshops, system demonstrations, and practical exercises designed to strengthen data-driven governance, streamline barangay operations, and ensure compliance with national standards. The activity reinforced our commitment to transparency, accountability, and excellence in public service delivery.

With enhanced knowledge and improved systems, our barangays are now better equipped to serve the community efficiently and effectively.

READ | DILG Pushes Full Digital Shift in Barangays Through Nationwide LGUSS-BIMS Adoption

In a major push to accelerate digital transformation at the grassroots level, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) has mandated the nationwide adoption of the Local Government Unit Support System – Barangay Information Management System (LGUSS-BIMS).

Through a Memorandum Circular, the DILG now requires all barangays to adopt and operate the BIMS, a web-based platform that enables the systematic recording, updating, and management of critical barangay data. These include resident profiles, barangay properties, financial transactions, ordinances, and disaster response information.

Composed of 11 interconnected sub-systems, LGUSS-BIMS enables real-time monitoring, reporting, and data sharing between barangays and higher-level local government units (LGUs). The system is designed to standardize data management across barangays while improving efficiency, transparency, and accountability in the digitalization of barangay records and services.

The initiative forms part of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s broader directive to digitize government services across all agencies and LGUs to ensure faster, more responsive, and citizen-centered public service through strengthened frontline and back-end operations.

Beyond administrative functions, the system also supports evidence-based governance by enabling barangays to utilize system-generated data for development planning, budget preparation, peace and order programs, and disaster risk reduction initiatives.

As of the latest DILG report, 9,774 out of 42,011 barangays, or 23 percent, are actively using the system, while 14,008 barangays, or 33 percent, have already undergone orientation on the use of BIMS.

The DILG assured the public that data privacy and security remain a top priority. Access to barangay websites under the system is limited and strictly complies with the Data Privacy Act, particularly given the sensitive nature of the information being handled.

With the implementation guidelines now in place, the DILG expects increased adoption of LGUSS-BIMS nationwide, marking a significant step toward more transparent, efficient, and data-driven barangay administration across the country.

23 LGU SA CAGAYAN, PUMASA SA CHILD-FRIENDLY LOCAL GOVERNANCE AUDIT 2025 NG DILG

Pumasa ang 22 bayan at isang lungsod sa lalawigan ng Cagayan sa 2025 Child-Friendly Local Governance Audit (CFLGA) ng Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).

Batay sa inilabas na resulta ng DILG, umabot sa 86 ang mga pumasa sa Rehiyon 2 ngayong 2025, mas mataas kumpara sa 74 LGU na nakapasa noong 2024.

Kabilang sa mga lokal na pamahalaan mula sa Cagayan na nakapasa ang mga bayan ng Alcala, Allacapan, Amulung, Aparri, Baggao, Ballesteros, Buguey, Calayan, Camalaniugan, Enrile, Gattaran, Gonzaga, Iguig, Lal-lo, Pamplona, Solana, Peñablanca, Rizal, Sanchez Mira, Santa Praxedes, Santo Niño, Tuao, at Tuguegarao City.

Ang CFLGA ay isang result-based assessment at taunang mandatory audit na nakatuon sa pagtiyak na naipatutupad ng mga lokal na pamahalaan ang kanilang responsibilidad sa paghahatid ng serbisyong tumutugon sa kapakanan ng mga bata.

Sinusukat sa audit ang pagsunod ng mga LGU sa apat na pangunahing karapatan ng mga bata: survival, development, protection, participation, at maging ang child-friendly governance.

Ang pagpasa ng mga naturang LGU ay patunay na compliant ang mga ito sa mga itinakdang pamantayan ng DILG at sa mga probisyon ng Konstitusyon ng Pilipinas.

Gagawaran naman ang mga ito ng Seal of -Friendly Local Governance (SCFLG).(Badz Heralde)

Mananatiling suspendido ang klase mula Kindergarten hanggang Grade 12 sa mga pampubliko at pribadong paaralan bukas, November 20, 2025 dahil sa patuloy na pagbuhos ng malakas na ulan at pagtaas ng lebel ng tubig dito sa bayan ng Allacapan.

Para sa mga nangangailangan ng agarang tulong, maaaring makipag-ugnayan sa ating mga responder at emergency personnel.

Manatiling ligtas at maging alerto.

| Ipinag-utos ni Mayor Yvonne Katrina Florida ang suspensiyon ng pasok sa lahat ng antas sa pampubliko at pribadong paaralan sa Bayan ng Allacapan, ngayong hapon ng Miyerkules, Nobyembre 19, 2025.

Ang suspensiyon ay bunsod ng malakas na pag-uulan na nararanasan sa naturang bayan bilang pag-iingat sa kaligtasan ng mga mag-aaral.
