Tolentinoโs commitment to empower vulnerable sectors through sustainable livelihood opportunities, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) XIIโSarangani Field Office (SARFO) released livelihood starter kits to 131 beneficiaries during an activity held on September 16, 2026, at the Barangay Bagacay Gymnasium in Alabel, Sarangani Province.
The assistance was provided under the DOLE Integrated Livelihood Program (DILP), DOLEโs flagship program that provides support to vulnerable, disadvantaged, and displaced workers to help them establish or improve sustainable sources of income.
The beneficiaries include parents and guardians of child laborers, senior citizens, self-employed workers with insufficient income, women, farmers, fisherfolk, and displaced workers.
The livelihood assistance covers various income-generating projects, including frozen product vending, mini carinderia, rice retailing, and agricultural and agri-veterinary supplies, giving beneficiaries opportunities to start or strengthen their respective livelihood activities.
A total of โฑ2,553,715.00 in DOLE livelihood assistance, was provided for the beneficiaries under the DILP Regular Fund.
The project is being implemented in partnership with the San Miguel Multi-purpose Cooperative (SMMPC) as the accredited co-partner (ACP). The cooperative will assist in the implementation of the livelihood projects to promote effective resource management, self-reliance, and community economic development.
The activity forms part of DOLEโs continuing efforts to bring livelihood interventions closer to workers and vulnerable communities and help beneficiaries build sustainable income-generating activities. Secretary Tolentino has emphasized that DOLE programs should translate into meaningful and lasting improvements in the lives of workers, their families, and communities.
Through the DILP, DOLE continues to provide livelihood assistance that enables qualified beneficiaries to establish, expand, or restore small enterprises and strengthen their capacity for sustainable income generation.
