📢 PUBLIC ADVISORY

The Local Government Unit of Buruanga informs the public that a Compressed Four-Day Workweek will be implemented at the Municipal Government Offices beginning March 16, 2026, as part of energy conservation measures in response to the global oil situation and rising fuel costs.

Under this arrangement, most municipal offices will operate Monday to Thursday, from 7:00 AM to 12:00 NN and 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM, completing the required 40-hour workweek within four (4) days.

Fridays:
Most municipal offices will be closed, except for offices that provide essential, emergency, or continuous services, including:

• Buruanga Primary Care Facility
• Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO)
• Public Market and Slaughterhouse operations
• Municipal Auxiliary Police
• Ambulance and emergency response services
• Other field and operational units with continuous functions

These offices will continue to operate according to their regular or operational schedules to ensure uninterrupted public service.

The public is encouraged to schedule official transactions from Monday to Thursday during the new office hours.

This initiative supports national government efforts to reduce energy consumption while maintaining efficient and continuous public service.

In line with the observance of the 36th Civil Registration Month, the LGU Buruanga, in collaboration with the PSA Aklan, successfully conducted a Security Paper Awarding, Mobile Birth Registration, and PhilSys Registration activity in Barangay El Progreso, Buruanga, Aklan.

The initiative aimed to bring essential civil registry and identification services closer to the community, ensuring greater accessibility, convenience, and strengthened public service delivery for residents.

The LGU Buruanga - Office of the Municipal Civil Registrar actively participated in the Kickoff Caravan and Opening Ceremony of the 36th Civil Registration Month (CRM) held at CityMall Kalibo.

The activity was hosted by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Aklan, headed by Engr. Antonet B. Catubuan, highlighting the theme: “Navigating the Future Together: Advancing CRVS in Shaping the Global and Regional Data Ecosystem.”

Through this significant event, the LGU Buruanga, under the leadership of Mayor Allan P. Dagohoy and through the Municipal Civil Registrar, Roselyn Casuncad, reaffirmed its continued commitment to supporting civil registration initiatives and strengthening the Civil Registration and Vital Statistics (CRVS) system to ensure the delivery of efficient and reliable public service.
