SAFETY ADVISORY

In observance of Holy Week, the MDRRM Office of Santiago respectfully reminds everyone to remain vigilant and practice safety at all times:

1. Observe Safety Protocols
• Adhere to crowd control measures during religious gatherings and processions.
• Keep emergency exits and access pathways clear at all times.

2. Stay Hydrated and Protected
• Bring drinking water, hats, or umbrellas, especially during outdoor activities.
• Wear light, breathable, and comfortable clothing.

3. Practice Fire Safety
• Use candles or incense with caution and responsibility.
• Avoid open flames in crowded or enclosed areas.

4. Follow Traffic and Parking Regulations
• Park only in designated areas.
• Cooperate with traffic enforcers and barangay personnel.

5. Secure Personal Belongings
• Stay alert in crowded places.
• Immediately report any suspicious person or activity to authorities.

6. Protect Your Home
• Ensure your home is securely locked when unattended.
• Avoid sharing REAL-TIME locations on SOCIAL MEDIA for your safety.

🌧 Heavy Rainfall Alert

📍 Agusan del Norte and Butuan
The MDRRM Office is closely monitoring a weather disturbance bringing moderate to heavy rainfall (approximately 14 mm/hour) over the province and Butuan City beginning early morning and potentially persisting throughout the day.

Continuous rainfall may result in:
• Localized flooding in low-lying and riverbank areas
• Rising water levels along the Agusan River and its tributaries
• Possible flash floods in urban drainage-prone areas
• Rain-induced landslides in upland/sloping barangays

📌 ADVISORY TO THE PUBLIC:
✔ Monitor official LGU advisories
✔ Avoid crossing swollen rivers and flooded roads
✔ Prepare emergency kits and secure important documents
✔ Stay alert for possible pre-emptive evacuation notices
✔ Report flooding or emergencies to your Barangay DRRM officials
