Trust isn’t built through words alone, it’s built through action.

A blindfolded trust walk challenged our Tāne group to rely on communication, teamwork, and trust. We saw genuine care for each other’s safety, strong teamwork, and plenty of hard-case moments along the way. We never want our rangatahi to stop being themselves, their humour is one of their greatest strengths.

First time using our brand new kitchen & Another awesome programme with our Year 11 Tāne group from I Have A Dream.

Today we explored the idea of being a “show off” and how backing yourself and sharing your strengths can actually be something positive. The boys pushed through the obstacle course, even on a low-energy day, then got stuck into creating some seriously delicious gourmet Mexican tacos.

From Mexican rice and fresh salsa to tasty taco fillings, their cooking skills continue to impress us. We love creating opportunities for these rangatahi to learn, grow, and build confidence. Watching their skills thrive within the programme is one of the most rewarding parts of what we do.

🌿 We're Excited to Launch Our New Website! 🌿

--- https://www.withinnature.org.nz/ ---

After months of growth, learning, and dreaming about the future, we're proud to unveil the brand-new WithIN NATURE website!

Our new online home better reflects who we are, what we do, and the impact we're creating alongside rangatahi, whānau, schools, marae, and communities across Te Tai Tokerau. From environmental education and kai sovereignty projects to youth development and community-led initiatives, the website provides a clearer window into our kaupapa and vision for the future.

A huge thank you to Online Designs for helping bring this vision to life. Their expertise, creativity, and support have transformed our website into a modern, engaging platform that will help us share stories, connect with supporters, and grow our impact.

This launch marks another step forward in our journey of reconnecting people with nature, culture, community, and themselves.

We invite you to explore the new website, learn about our projects, and join us as we continue to grow a more resilient and thriving future together.

🌱 Growing people. Growing communities. Growing connection.

Within Nature supports rangatahi through whenua-led learning, mātauranga Māori, regeneration projects, Maramataka, workshops and community connection.

Today our Year 9 I Have a Dream group held a Matariki Met Gala!

Rangatahi headed into the ngahere to collect natural materials and worked in teams to create their own outfits. They were judged on colour, use of plants, accessories, teamwork, and the kōrero behind their designs before walking the catwalk.

This group always blows us away with their creativity, teamwork, confidence, and awesome ideas. Every outfit was unique and showed just how talented our rangatahi are.

Ka mau te wehi, everyone!

Something exciting is coming!

We’re proud to announce that the WithInNature website will be going live this Friday.

Our website will showcase our kaupapa, programmes, and commitment to empowering rangatahi through connection with te taiao. It will also highlight our environmental conservation mahi, outdoor learning experiences, and the importance of kaitiakitanga in caring for our whenua and waterways.

We look forward to sharing more about who we are, what we do, and the positive impact we are creating within our communities.

Keep an eye out for the launch this Friday, we can’t wait to share it with you all!

Even under the low-energy phase of Tīrea o Ariroa in the Māramataka, our rangatahi pushed through and completed their projects with determination.

In this workshop, collaborating with I Have a Dream Charitable Trust NZ , we explored creating wall hangers entirely from salvaged pallet wood. The rangatahi designed their own pieces, measured, cut, sanded, and assembled the hooks onto their bases by hand.

There’s always something special about taking home something you created yourself!
