Transparency at risk from WRC Chair Pamela Storey. Her claim that The Rates Control Team is telling the voters that WRC spent $16.9 million on Consultants in the 23/24 year is misinformation. What she fails to tell you is that if WRC contracts a consultant or consultancy company they call them a contractor. To the Rates Control Team they are still a Consultant getting paid for their expert advice. We have a list of 161 individuals or companies paid $16.9 million. She also does not tell you that the combined contractor and consultant spend for the 23/24 year was $69 million. I guess she would rather that stayed hidden. The Rates Control Team has the Chairs of Strategy and Policy, Finance, Intergrated Catchment Management and Public Transport as half of our members, and we believe in transparency and due diligence for you the Rate Payer.
