Upper Hutt Rotary Club Supporting the Upper Hutt community through a number of projects and initiatives.

Established in July 1964, the Upper Hutt Rotary Club is a voluntary organization dedicated to support the Rotary Club International's principle of promoting world understanding and peace. We are committed to enhancing the local community through a variety of impactful projects that address social services, cultural initiatives, recreational programs, educational resources, and fostering camaraderi

e. Notable initiatives include the Fantastic Fireworks, an annual event that provides safe, family-friendly entertainment for the Hutt Valley and greater Wellington region. Additionally, our Pride and Workmanship Scheme has been instrumental in recognizing and celebrating the valuable contributions of staff across various local organizations. The Upper Hutt Rotary Club's efforts have been commended by the Mayor of Upper Hutt City in July 2004 for our leadership and dedication to improving the community. Through these projects and more, we continue to work towards uplifting and creating a better place to live, where care, connection, and service to others remain at the heart of everything we do.

i🌟 Pride of Workmanship Awards 2026

Do you manage a business in Upper Hutt and have a fantastic staff member who consistently goes above and beyond? The Rotary Club of Upper Hutt invites you to publicly recognise their dedication and excellence at the Pride of Workmanship Awards Dinner, to be held on 27 July 2026.

This Rotary‑approved program, first launched in 1976, celebrates employees who embody the motto: “Do it once – do it well.”

We encourage local businesses to nominate team members who demonstrate outstanding qualities — commitment, integrity, and pride in their work. Each nomination should include a short citation (no more than 200 words) explaining why your nominee deserves recognition.

When children are caught in the middle of family harm incidents, even a small act of kindness can make a world of difference.

The Greenmeadows Rotary Community Group in New Zealand is partnering with Napier Police through the Toys Not Tears pilot, providing comforting toys to help tamariki feel safe and supported during some of life’s most difficult moments.

Quietly, compassionately and with no fanfare, Rotary is helping bring comfort where it’s needed most.
