Great to see Duncan Webb Labour MP at the hikoi/march/protest by Sexual Violence Prevention Ōtautahi and Aviva. He's also an ambassador for Decult, which I started in 2023. Exposing the sexual abuse of women and children in cultic communities and high-control religion was at the center of my book CULT TRIP, and it's at the heart of the volunteer work our fledgling charity does to raise awareness and put on another impactful conference.
A big shout-out to all those who showed up today, the friends who came along, the brave survivor at the mic, and the passionate wahine at the helm of this event. And also to the woman who stopped us in the street to tell us, with tears in her eyes, that there had been sexual abuse (and a cover up) in her church.
