🌧️ What a day! 🌧️

Despite the very wet weather, it was fantastic to see so many of our amazing community at the official opening of this awesome new riding facility.

We didn’t really get a chance to properly thank everyone on the day, so we wanted to take a moment now to give a big shoutout to all the people who made it so special.

A huge thank you to our amazing community – the riders, families, and supporters who braved the rain with patience, positivity, and energy. Your enthusiasm is what makes projects like this truly worthwhile.

Special thanks to:
👏 Trail Pro, our project team, and everyone involved behind the scenes, including Keren, Nick, Mike and everyone who contributed from our community to help shape this space.
👏 Nikita and the team from Riders Ready Club for their incredible work coordinating the day, helping riders stay safe, and making sure everyone had a chance to get involved.
👏 Red Beach School kapa haka group who were absolutely awesome and brought such a special spirit to the event.
👏 All the sponsors who provided refreshments on the day, and Nick for pulling it all together – it was hugely appreciated.

This facility has been built for everyone to enjoy – a place to ride and have fun together.

As a reminder, to keep the space safe and enjoyable for all, it is for bikes, scooters, skateboards, and rollerblades only, and there are no tricycles, training wheels, go-karts, or motorised vehicles allowed on the track.

Finally, a big thank you again to all the families and riders who came along and made the best of a very wet day – we appreciate you.

We hope you enjoy looking through these photos and reliving the day. We can’t wait to see the facility in full use in the sunshine! ☀️🚴‍♀️🚴‍♂️

You might’ve seen today’s Government announcement of $10 million going into predator-free projects across Auckland. It’s a positive boost for our environment and for the many communities doing the mahi.

It’s a good reminder that this work only happens because of everyone’s commitment and sticking with it over time.

It’s also great to see the NEXT Foundation continuing to support this space alongside others, helping turn long-term aspirations into real progress on the ground.

Here on the Hibiscus Coast, we’ve seen what sustained support can do. Our backing of projects like Pest Free Hibiscus Coast, alongside council funding, has helped build real momentum and strong local capability over the years.

While the announcement doesn’t yet name specific local projects, it does highlight the value of community-led conservation efforts happening across Auckland.

Most importantly, it’s about the people doing the work in our community. Thanks so much to everyone involved. 💚

Join us to celebrate the opening of your brand new pump track at Red Beach Park.

The track will open for the first time at this event, so please wait until the fences come down before riding.

Enjoy riders and skaters showing how it’s done, sausage sizzle, coffee and hot chocolate, and Red Beach School kapa haka.

Unfortunately the fire truck is unable to attend due to operational requirements, but there’s still plenty to see and do.

Bring your bike, scooter, or skateboard and get ready to ride, roll, and flow. If you can, walk to the event with family and neighbours.

As the track opens, we expect lots of interest over the first few weeks, so please be mindful of neighbours and keep noise and parking respectful.
