Day 2 | Community Mapping and Mapillary Competition

The second day of the Mapillary Workshop and Community Mapping Competition began with all participants gathering at Far Western University for a short briefing before heading out for field mapping activities.

Participants actively mapped areas around the university and nearby streets, capturing street-level imagery of roads, schools, colleges and other important places in the community. The activity contributed valuable data to open mapping and helped improve the visibility of the local area.

At the end of the mapping session, the top performing participants were recognized for their outstanding contributions:

1st – Roshan Joshi
2nd – Tek Raj Bhatt
3rd – Diya Karki

Following the competition, feedback was collected from participants and the program was officially concluded with closing remarks from both the speakers and Rabindra Lekhak, Secretary of Far Western University YouthMappers.

The event was a great success, with participants capturing over 20,000 street-level images in just two days, which significantly strengthened the presence of Far Western University and Mahendranagar city on the map.
