📢 𝗨𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗺𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱𝗲𝗱! 🇳🇵

On 26 August 2026, devastating floods and mudslides swept through the Lhende Khola river valley, Nepal, resulting in heavy tolls on lives and critical infrastructure. As of 27 August, early reports indicate an estimated 160 casualties and around 1,500 people missing across Nepal and Tibet, with numbers expected to rise as search and rescue efforts continue.

In response, professionals from NAXA, MapBuds, Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team, and the wider tech community in Nepal are coming together to support evidence-based humanitarian action in line with joint national efforts.

The collaborative effort includes processing drone imagery, mapping and validating affected areas, and using the fAIr platform to map and compare building footprints before and after the floods, helping generate timely information for response and recovery efforts.

Day 3 & Closing Ceremony | 3-Day Workshop on UI/UX Design

The 3-Day Workshop on UI/UX Design, organized by Far Western University YouthMappers, Nepal, was successfully concluded today with a Closing Ceremony at the School of Engineering, Far Western University.

The final day focused on Canva, where participants explored its tools, templates, features, and customization techniques. The session also included design presentations, giving participants an opportunity to showcase their work and share what they learned throughout the workshop.

The Closing Ceremony was chaired by Mr. Tek Raj Bhatt, President of Far Western University YouthMappers, Nepal.

We were honoured by the presence of our respected guests:

Certificates were presented to the participants for their active participation throughout the workshop, along with certificates of appreciation to our mentors, Mr. Pradeep Nath and Mr. Hemant Lekhak, for their valuable guidance and contribution.

We sincerely thank all the participants, our mentors, and our supporting partners, Society of Engineering Students and Techspire Innovative Club, for their valuable support in making the workshop successful.

We also extend our gratitude to the School of Engineering, Far Western University, for providing the venue and supporting us throughout the program.

Day 2 | 3-Day Workshop on UI/UX Design

Day 2 of our 3-Day Workshop on UI/UX Design focused on exploring practical tools and techniques used in the design process.

During Day 2, participants explored plugins, buttons, and templates in Figma, along with prototype designing to understand how different elements can be combined to create interactive and user-friendly interfaces.

The session also introduced the basics and essential tools of Canva. Participants explored Canva templates and practiced customizing them to create designs according to their own ideas.

Another day of learning and practical exploration completed — one more day to go! 💡

Day 1 | 3-Day Workshop on UI/UX Design

Yesterday marked the successful beginning of our 3-Day Workshop on UI/UX Design, organized by Far Western University YouthMappers, Nepal, at the School of Engineering, Far Western University.

During Day 1, participants explored the fundamentals of UI/UX design, focusing on user-centric design principles and essential design concepts for creating meaningful digital experiences. The session also covered color theory, helping participants understand how colors influence visual communication and design.

Through practical design activities, participants put their learning into action and worked on homepage designing, applying UI/UX principles to create engaging and user-friendly interfaces.

Successfully Celebrated the Establishment Day!

Far Western University YouthMappers, Nepal successfully celebrated its Establishment Day with a Sanitation & Plantation Program at Far Western University, Central Campus.

The program was a great success, witnessing enthusiastic participation from students, faculty members, and helping hands. We were honored by the gracious presence of Prof. Kumbh Bahadur Chand, Principal of Far Western University, Central Campus, and Asst. Prof. Er. Hari Prasad Joshi, Head of the School of Engineering, Far Western University, whose encouragement made the occasion even more meaningful.

As part of the celebration, plantation & sanitation activities were carried out across all seven departments within the Central Campus, reaffirming our collective commitment to environmental conservation.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the university administration, faculty members, students, helping hands, volunteers, and everyone who contributed their time, effort, and enthusiasm to make this event a remarkable success.
