In Norway, 18 road sections have been selected as Norwegian Scenic Routes. These roads run through landscapes with unique natural scenery, along the coast and fiords and over mountains and plains. Little architectural gems at the edge of the ocean, dramatic viewpoints and functional rest areas provide enjoyable nature experiences for road travellers who want more than just finding the fastest way from A to B. Through the combination of nature, roads, architecture and art, we create new pictures of Norway in order to tempt you to embark upon new journeys along our most beautiful roads. Shuttle bus makes visiting Stegastein easier 🚌🌄
In July, a shuttle bus runs between Hopen in Aurland and Stegastein along the Norwegian Scenic Route Aurlandsfjellet. The service is aimed at motorhomes, caravans and others who want to avoid the narrow, steep and winding road to the viewpoint.
Park at the sports ground/school at Hopen and use the Park and Ride solution. Paid parking gives a 50% discount on the bus ticket. The shuttle operates with eight daily departures, and toilets are available at Hopen.
Stegastein, designed by architects Todd Saunders and Tommie Wilhelmsen, sits 650 metres above the Aurlandsfjord and offers a truly spectacular view.

Skyttelbuss gjer det enklare å besøkje Stegastein 🚌🌄
I juli går det skyttelbuss mellom Hopen i Aurland og Stegastein langs Nasjonal turistveg Aurlandsfjellet. Tilbodet er særleg retta mot bubilar, campingvogner og andre som vil unngå den smale, bratte og svingete vegen opp til utsiktspunktet.
Du kan parkere ved idrettsplassen/skulen på Hopen og nytte «Park and Ride». Parkering er mot betaling og gir 50 % rabatt på bussbilletten. Bussen har åtte daglege avgangar, og det er tilgang til toalett på Hopen.
Stegastein, teikna av Todd Saunders og Tommie Wilhelmsen, ligg 650 meter over Aurlandsfjorden og byr på ei heilt unik utsikt.

The Sjonfjellet rest area along the Norwegian Scenic Route Helgelandskysten is now completed and open to visitors. With sweeping views across the Sjona fjord and towards the island communities of Lovund and Træna.
Designed by Atelier Oslo AS, the facility is carefully integrated into the landscape, inviting travellers to pause and experience the distinct character of the Helgeland coast.
The official opening will take place in September 2026.

Sjonfjellet rasteplass langs Nasjonal turistveg Helgelandskysten er nå ferdig bygd og åpent for publikum. Med utsikt over Sjona og øyriket mot Lovund og Træna.
Anlegget er tegnet av Atelier Oslo AS. Her inviteres reisende til å stoppe, trekke pusten og oppleve Helgelandskystens særpreg på nært hold.
Offisiell åpning skjer i september 2026.

📍 Norwegian Scenic Route Andøya
A temporary toilet facility has been installed in Børra. The solution consists of a toilet unit with two toilets and one urinal.
The facility is open 24/7 and will be available throughout the summer season, with planned operation until mid-September.

📍 Nasjonal turistveg Andøya
Det er nå satt ut en midlertidig toalettløsning i Børra. Løsningen består av en toalettbrakke med to toalett og én urinal.
Toalettet er døgnåpent og vil være tilgjengelig gjennom sommersesongen, med planlagt drift fram til medio september.
